The Ad Astra is a Republic Shield MC80 Star Cruiser that is currently assigned to the Subterrel Strike Force.

History

The Ad Astra with all running lights
RgF 103

Part of Republic Shield reinforcements led by the Star Destroyer Wyvern to the Polaris IV station, where a T’Seran Resistance delegation aboard the shuttle Deliverer was being pursuit by Imperial forces led by the Star Destroyer Gargant. Republic Shield forces were screening the Deliverer, holding back the Imperial attack; however the arrival of Republic Shield reinforcements sent the Imperial pursuit force into full retreat. As the Gargant led Imperial forces from the combat zone, the shuttle Deliverer entered the Wyvern’s hangar. The Imperial retreat was hampered by a combined assault on the Gargant executed by the Star Destroyer Wyvern and the vessel turned the Star Destroyer into scrap.

IBG 104

Arrived to reinforce the fleet build-up preparing to assault the Tarla Minor Shipyards. Arrived at the build-up just after the fleet fought off Imperially-funded pirate attack by mercenary forces led by the Frigate Xenesis.

RgF 109

Led Republic Shield forces against Imperial forces led by Strike Cruiser Defiler.

IBG 105

Stationed near the now-abandoned staging point near a blue and green planet (#53) not far from a major Imperial outpost during assault transport Lambda’s undercover operation to the outpost.

IBG 106

Part of the Tarla Strike Force assault against the Imperial Super Star Destroyer Tyrannic and its supporting fleet at an Imperial construction facility near a blue and brown planet (#26) orbiting a white star (#91) on the edge of a blue nebula (#68), led by the Calamari Cruiser Rebel Fist. Part of the task force that directly engaged the newly-constructed Super Star Destroyer Tyrannic and the construction platforms it was still docked with. In the aftermath of the battle, relocated to the rendezvous point near a blue and black gas planet (#34).

IBG 107

Present at the fleet build-up near a cloudy planet (#9) during a Republic Shield recovery mission of a supply convoy, which was in the process of being captured by Imperial forces led by the Star Destroyer Sustainer before the Calamari Cruiser Rebel Fist’s forces disabled and captured the Star Destroyer, and rescued the convoy.

RgF 110

Rendezvoused at a neutral fuel and supply depot in Imperial space. Left Republic Shield forces behind while the vessel entered hyperspace, to destroy any Imperial scouts attempting to follow the fleet.

RgF 111b

Headed Republic Shield and T’Seran Resistance task force in the liberation of the T’Seran system from Imperial occupation. Stumbled upon Imperial patrol, and left the Frigate Unforgiven to deal with the patrol force whilst the Ad Astra and the rest of the task force headed further in-system to begin the battle with the Imperial defenders.

RgF 111c

Led Republic Shield and T’Seran Resistance forces in direct assault against Imperial planetary defence forces in close orbit of the red planet T’Ser. Attack was a success, with the Imperial Star Destroyer Vile and the defensive platforms destroyed, along with assault transports full of Imperial troops, and a group of shuttles carrying officials, including the local Imperial governor. Helped depose the Imperial occupation of the T’Seran system, liberating the T’Seran people from slavery and oppression.

IBG 108

Present at the fleet build-up near a blue and brown planet (#46) and a blue nebula (#68) during Republic Shield assault on the Jardal pirate base.

IBG 109

Left fleet build-up near a murky orange planet (#33) orbiting a white star with blue halo (#90) to reinforce Republic Shield forces which had been lured into an Imperial ambush by survivors of the Jardal pirates aboard the luxury yacht Quicksilver who had alleged an undefended Imperial supply depot. Arrived to join the battle after the satellites jamming communications were destroyed and a call for help could be issued. Helped destroy the Imperial outpost and drive off the Imperial warships, including the Star Destroyer Annihilator, the Interdictor Rapier, the Escort Carrier Kellig and the Modified Frigate Neutron.

IBG 110

Led Republic Shield assault against innermost Imperial outpost near a blue and white planet (#36) orbiting an old white star (#85) barring the way to the planet Tarla Minor] and its shipyards. Aided in the destruction of the shipyards, including all nearby Imperial defensive detail.

IBG 111

Part of the Tarla Strike Force led by the Star Destroyer Redemption. Fought in the Battle of Tarla Minor, destroying the Tarla Minor Shipyards and ensuring New Republic dominance of the system.

IBG 112

Stationed at the fleet build-up near the planet Tarla Minor while Republic Shield reconnaissance forces attempted to locate the escaped Super Star Destroyer Patriarch. A number of locations were scouted, including a zone near a red nebula (#73) and a cloudy planet (#9), but the Patriarch was finally located at a TIE Defender manufacturing facility near a purple planet (#52) orbiting a blue star (#89). Moved with the entire fleet to that location to begin the assault on the Super Star Destroyer. The Interdictor Senate prevented Imperial forces from evading the onslaught, as the rest of the fleet moved in. The Imperial forces had formed into layers of defence around the Patriarch, with outer perimeter forces covering the inner defences, which in turn covered the Super Star Destroyer. Directly engaged perimeter defence vessel, the Frigate Holok, then pushed through to directly engage the Patriarch’s inner defences, specifically the Victory Star Destroyer Wazika. Destroyed enough forces to get in close enough to directly assault the Patriarch, contributing to its demise.

RgF 301

Intercepted a distress call from a New Republic supply platform in the Meridian Cluster, which had fallen under Imperial attack. Organised Republic Shield reinforcements in the form of starfighters followed by the Strike Cruiser Kayak and the corvette Blaze of Glory.

RgF 306

Pulled out of hyperspace while en route to supply platform Terminus by the Interdictor Event Horizon. Attacked by forces led by the Interdictor Event Horizon, and engaged directly by the corvette Talon II. Station defences launched from the Terminus, but they were insufficient to repel the Imperial forces, and were too far away to reach the vessel in time to be of much assistance. The Talon II and the vessel traded blows, knocking the corvette’s shields out, while sustaining sizable diminishment of shield strength, too. However, Republic Shield reinforcements arrived to defend the vessel, engaging the attacking craft, and the Talon II was vanquished, leaving only the Interdictor’s forces to prove as any immediate threat. The battle turned grimmer with the arrival of Imperial reinforcements led by the Frigate Daveen I. The battle dragged on, with the vessel’s shield systems failing completely. The situation became worse with the arrival of the Imperial Dreadnaught Skami, which added its forces to the battle. The vessel sustained serious hull damage by the time Republic Shield reinforcements proper arrived, led by the Frigate Unforgiven, and backed by the Dreadnaught End of Days and the Strike Cruiser Kayak. Transport group Shock launched from the Unforgiven, and Republic Shield forces struck back at the Imperial forces, destroying the Frigate Daveen I and the Dreadnaught Skami, and wounding the Interdictor Event Horizon. The Event Horizon attempted to flee, but was also crushed by Republic Shield reinforcements.

RgF 307

Stationed at the Terminus platform while undergoing repairs in the aftermath of an Imperial ambush. Present during civilian convoy arrived in the system under attack by Imperial forces disguised as pirates. The Terminus platform received the civilian convoy’s distress call, and requested the vessel aid in the convoy’s defence. Launched Republic Shield defence force, which defended the civilian vessels, engaging the Imperial attack force. The vessel underwent repairs during the battle by repair crews onboard the shuttle ST225 from the Terminus platform. Republic Shield forces drove off the Imperial attacking forces, and saved the majority of the convoy from destruction.
