The storyline of the Aurora Force has it based in the Kartuiin Sector, on the planet Xenen. Their base is named Shay Memorial, and is located several kilometers outside the city of Quis, settled in a vast tract of wilderness in a mountain valley. The timeline puts the Aurora Force at shortly after the events of Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy and prior to the events of Dark Empire and the Jedi Academy Trilogy.
Aurora Force has three time settings for participation, one being the main storyline, set 9 years after the Battle of Yavin. Aurora Force Distant Past is set 2500 years in the past, during the heyday of the Old Republic. Aurora Force Second Generation (AF-Kids) is set up as a Vong War era storyline, currently 24.5 years after the Battle of Yavin.
