Background
The Finest Hour - originally named the Bechesmy - was previously owned by Zhorin Kobylarz, a male Duros. Hermus Dogan first encountered the ship during his childhood, when Zhorin was hired as a transport pilot by the Dogan family droid repair business. Many years later, in his twenty-third year of life, Hermus was given the Bechesmy by Zhorin. It was heavily damaged in a battle with the Empire shortly after Dogan officially claimed the ship from the Duros. Dogan could not immediately afford the repair costs, so chose to join the New Republic at the suggestion of Zhorin.
The ship was finally repaired later in Dogan's twenty-third year of life, where he and his droid CL-VR or 'Cleaver' renamed it the Finest Hour. With the exception of standard shore leave from the Rebel Squadrons and one extensive trip into the Unknown Regions, the Skipray Blastboat generally sits in a rented hangar on Rebel Squadrons property on Tarsonis under the protection of Cleaver.
Notable Modifications
Due to damage or situational requirements over the years, the Finest Hour has received a number of modifications.
- 2x Mendarn Arms Dar-2 ion cannons removed (battle damage)
- Proton torpedo launcher removed (battle damage)
- 1x KX5 laser cannon added (replaced torpedo launcher)
- Energy formerly used in the removed ion cannons redirected to shield generators
- Nav computer jump route capacity increased to 7 from the original 4

A portion of the cargo bay is generally taken up by living space for Hermus Dogan, but can be packed up and condensed when necessary.
