Jeb Ardunis

General Background

As a young Ysanna nomad hailing from Ossus, the person known as Jeb Ardunis dared to step into a life of existence after spending most of his childhood in isolation with his tribe. Far used to the scant pickings of equipment and other resources the now barren world heralded, the drive to find what might be left would soon consume him.

Being that the Nomads were people who had been heavily influenced by the Jedi, Jeb was trained physically similar to what his tribe knew a Jedi would, based on the tribe's knowledge of the Jedi themselves. His training began at the early age of five, focus mainly pertaining to combat, but also included various mental activities. Despite the rigorous training he endured, Jeb was still quite weak in most respects. However, his dexterity and perception make up for this loss. With his somewhat heightened perception, Jeb found more satisfaction in the facets of knowledge. His wanderlust of the Jedi began to open his mind, and by the time he was ten, he would focus less on combat and moreso on his mental abilities. Problems would be solved with ease, unless it came to anything technical or mechanical. He understood the workings of machines, yet his prowess still lacked the necessary skill to be at least an accomplished do-it-yourself tradesman. When he turned eleven, things has begun to change even more drastically.

It was this, his inherent tie to the Force, that brought Jeb to wander. The secrets of the Force began to call to him. His home-world of Ossus seemed to speak to him, telling him of Jedi artifacts still undiscovered. Many tribes had attempted to salvage what they could from the ruins, yet were usually greeted in death, psychosis, or far worse fates. There were some who even completely vanished, believed that they had become one with the Force. Despite the dangers, he began to scout the remains of the Great Jedi Library, partly due to the likeness of lifestyle between his people and the Jedi, going alone into isolation for years when he was merely sixteen.

Emerging when he was twenty-one, Jeb felt a sense of failure. In his five years of solitude he only managed to keep within his possession an unknown crystal and an unidentified scroll. The ruins he had searched were mostly stripped of anything of value, but his people’s natural ability to find things that would normally be left unseen to the naked eye had aided him in this feat. Surely Jeb had found plenty of things he could have taken for himself to study the ways of the Jedi, but something within the Force told him to not take anything. Only did it allow him the luxury of these two items, that which would later be discovered by what Jedi remained, all but sealing his destiny.

Decidedly, Jeb sought transport from Ossus, his connection of the Force bringing him to a group of pilots from all backgrounds, affectionately naming themselves “Rogue Squadron”. He chose to join the New Republic, as he felt exposure to the galaxy would finally do him good. After roughly four years, Jeb now holds the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade and aspires to become one of their most dedicated personnel. Only did he underestimate that soon, his Jedi training would begin.
