Kidron Campaign

Summary

New Republic has been working to gain a foothold in the Elrood Sector via buttering up the Radell Mining Corporation. Radell Mining Corporation asks the ABG for help regarding a bit of an issue they're having. Freighter traffic has been disappearing without a trace. No distress comms. No known wreckage. Nothing. RMC is completely at a loss, but is going to be forced to stop trading with the New Republic if this issue isn't addressed. Without that economic channel, the NR will not be able to continue diplomatic efforts to appease the RMC. Hence, you guys were called in at the behest of the New Republic to deal with the disappearing freighters. Assuming the most straight forward answer, pirates, you have headed to the in-sector equivalent of Mos Eisley: Planet Kidron.

Kidron's capital city, and thus Kidron itself, is being run by a 'Saah' Yui'tek. Cursory knowledge of local planetary systems (5D or higher) knows that Kidron has always been an independent port of call for smugglers and people wishing to keep off the NR or the Empire's radar. However there has been a recent uptick in the more reprehensible side of crime: slave trafficking, blood sports, drugs, and bounty hunting. Local investigations of Orfite City, the capital, have revealed a recent patronage of extremely rich individuals throwing credits around on frivolous entertainment and extravagant purchases. They have bought their way into VIP treatment in almost every major establishment and even have local security forces giving them a great deal of leeway. Assuming the security forces to be in on the whole thing, members of the group assaulted the starport and dealt some severe blows to starport security, culminating in an eventual standoff. Jonah meanwhile brokered a deal with the chief of starport security (Mek'nar): the man's full assistance in tracking down the source of RMC's losses in exchange for the elimination of Saah Yui'tek.

The main group proceed to infiltrate the main government building at the center of town which had been recently remodeled to include a pleasure palace / casino for the Saah. After bypassing a turbolift or two, the group managed to reach the upper levels including the Saah's office and his personal quarters. Some acquired datacards from the Saah's desk, others ambushed the man while he slept, placing him in a hibernation trance, and dispatched his droid bodyguards. The party decides the best way out of the building while transporting the unconscious Saah is to hire a bus full of whores and hitch a ride out. Wanting to see him properly tried for his crimes, they ship him off to the Seraph with instructions that he and his damning files see their day in an NR court. Additionally, the group ships off the blackmail / Kidron accounts files to the NRI for brownie points.

The group returned to the spaceport and their Lambda shuttle to determine their next move: Seek out the aid of the local Spaceport Chief of Security, having completed his requested task of removing Saah Yui'tek from the face of the planet? Or do they go off on their own, using the information found in the Saah's datacards to investigate the Pirate's secret mountain base. Or do they do something completely friggan different? We'll find out tonight. Sim resume.
