The planet Mormo is a gas giant of the Baphomet system.
Database Description
It is a natural wonder, the surface gas reflects light in a multitude of colors giving the planet a rainbow like effect as viewed from space. And while these gasses have attracted the eyes of many adventurers, the unseen gasses below have attracted the intentions of many people looking for credits. The planet is rich in natural gasses, many of which can be converted and used as fuel. This fuel source being so close to the Rebel Squadrons combat zone has made Mormo, and the Mormo Mining Station, a booming location for non-combatants making money off the war effort.
The small city is really the Mormo Mining Station, home to gas miners and businessmen. The station built for both collection and conversion of gasses, was also designed with miner's homes in mind. The floating populace is the only location on Mormo where life can be found, for further down the planetary pressures become fatally crushing.
Another phenomenon to the planet is the backward thunderclouds. The hydrogen gas that forms these clouds fill with energy, and different gasses below these clouds create a powerful positive charge. On normal planets the ground would form a negative charge. This reversal causes the lightning bolts to shoot outward from the planet. The spectacle is rare, only once roughly every twenty-eight years as the hydrogen gas builds up.
