The second world in the system is a ringed planetoid. The ring consists of thousands of large, high-density asteroids. The planet Shoen itself is simply a rock. While it has habitable temperatures, debris has made the atmosphere highly hostile. There are signs that bodies of water, vegetation and limited life once existed on the surface, but everything has been destroyed by asteroid crashes. Asteroid hits mark the surface of Shoen with thousands of craters. Of more interest to the warring fleets of the present are the asteroids still in orbit in the ring. Each asteroid seems to be crammed with the raw metals needed to create transparisteel. The exact origin of the asteroids in the ring is also the source of continuous debate in scholarly circles.
