About

The TIE Fighter Under-graduate Course (short TF UG Course) is here to make sure that new members have the necessary skills to be able to participate in the Rebel Squadrons' TIE Fighter unit, the Patriot Battle Fleet (short PBF). Before a new member can join the PBF, s/he has to complete the listed graduation requirements.

TIE Fighter Undergrad Instructor: BGN Max Cal

Graduation requirements

  1. LJG Rank - In order to be able to graduate a student needs to have obtained the rank of a LJG through the Beginner's Path.
  2. 2 missions and reports - Play two TIE Fighter custom missions and send the TF UG Instructor the reports for it.
  3. Mission Narrative - Write a narrative for one of the TIE Fighter custom missions you played.

After a student's graduation, the PBF CO will be informed about the student's graduation. The PBF CO will then assign the graduated student to a position in the PBF. This may take a few days.
If a student is interested in joining a certain squadron, s/he should let the TF UG Instructor know before the graduation.

NOTE: All students who sign up for the Academy are to remain active during their time served. All students who do not report in, in any way, shape, or form, may be placed on an Absent With Out Leave (AWOL) list. The Command Staff reserves the right to remove students at any time for inactivity or misbehavior in the Academy.

Mission Installation and Instructions

- You MUST be "vulnerable". You must have "limited weapons". You must have "collisions on". In other words - make it real!

- You may not use any kind of an editor on your fighter, the mission, or your pilot. In other words - make it fair.

- You will fly the mission as Tour of Duty 1 (DEFECT.brf)

- You may not view any "hint" screens until after you run the mission for your report. In other words - make it a real challenge.

- Also, use each pilot name ONCE when flying. If you use the same pilot name each time, your pilot file will be corrupted and your scores will be lower each time. Reregister a pilot name for each run of a mission. This applies to all PBF missions, not just the Undergrad course.

- Please note: All missions flown and reported count towards graduation, whether or not you successfully complete the mission. Pass or fail, it doesn't matter.

Reporting

- Each mission is on a one run only basis - pass or fail. Your report should include all of the debrief stats at the end of the mission on your first run. See http://pbf.rebelsquadrons.org/academy/report.php for more info on submitting a report.
