Thoughts in no particular order

Most of this stuff should be applied for all ranks upto but NOT including general. After that, the system should shut off and no longer auto promote. However, rank points should still accumulate to judge activity, and for the ability to turn them in to purchase other goodies. (See below)

RS Overall

refocus

  • Should completely focus as an RPG community
  • Everything displayed on the main page for non-members should be pure fiction
  • separate member page for OOC info/news/etc

alter..erm.. aldermen

  • With the continuing shrinking of HC, we're having more aldermen. They should do stuff
  • Have each alderman responsible for something in the academy, OR some executive staff domain they can assist with (NOT Run)
  • maybe have an alderman run the front page with news/fiction/whatever. Something other than sitting there.

Flight sims

  • combine into one division
  • FIND MISSION BUILDERS!
  • if unable to find mission builders, then refocus the RS off of the flight sims and onto other aspects of star wars gaming

RPing to the fore front

  • This should be the focus. Role Playing in various ways
  • Zealot and ABG to lead the way in the new RS
  • Get folks dedicated to help out and keep things moving (Maybe alderman?)
  • ABG to setup "RS current timeline" to help mesh with recent fiction activities (While not abandoning current situations/timelines)
  • Find or create new ways to RP, perhaps this might generate new flight sim pilots.

  • Update to web 2.0 where possible
  • update all code as needed/as abilities allow

Immediate fixes

Academy!

  • BP is setup, keep with that
  • Teach nubs what they are allowed to do. Most don't know. THey know what they can do, but they don't know what they're allowed to do.
  • Setup academy courses and award rank points to division pool.
  • Each course worth so many points
  • Teach mission building (PRIORITY!)
  • Officer training course

basics

  • Call it something other than merits because of confusion with current system. Perhaps "Rank points" or "Commendations" whatever
  • Points auto-warded for TOD missions turned in and on time (see below).
  • Bonus points awarded at division CO's whim for other extra activities
  • maybe doing something specific for the division/squad something
  • Possible split between division level and RSWide level. However, all division points goto the same pool
  • maybe an auto promotion after x points
  • and that promotion uses up the points so they have to start fresh again..
  • RSWide points hold more value.. say for every 1rswide you've earned 5 division or something
  • Used to judge activity and warrant promotions/medals whatever

specifics

  • each division can set how many points are worth what activities
  • if enough points exist between the division and rswide pool have all co's involved emailed to let them know they can promote someone or after a certain threshold, the system auto promotes them.
  • in order for the system to auto-promote certain tasks must be achived. These can be set per division or RSWide depending on the rank.
  • display points earned per month on statistics page, this way they can be mentioned in a SotRS or some other newsletter. Recognition is a good motivator
  • perhaps some medals awarded as a bonus for the top RP earners or some other goody

Auto-awarding

ITODs

  • If(mission) {award x points}
  • If (Narrative) (award y points)
  • Points to be determined by VSG/PSG CO on a new ITOD page
  • merit points auto-awarded upon submission
  • "Top gun" merit points awarded 1 day after deadline (Incase CO extends deadline)
  • if "get out of mission" is made/awarded have CO's set x points (should be x point(s) less than actual submission)

ABG

  • CS Updater on the ABG site, can be setup to include awarding of points per ABG CO
  • Points to be variable and updated by GM at completion of sim. (Longer sim, more points, shorter sim, low points)

missions

  • Historical missions (Any mission flown after ITOD completion) have a set point range lower than ITOD
  • Review mission - adds x number of points
  • maybe all missions stored in a separate DB/page similar to ITOD system. (But show everyone who's flown it as a historical mission, not as a current ITOD)

promotions

  • Lower ranks can use division pool for requirements
  • higher ranks should require some rswide points
  • promotion should auto promote after pre-requisites met
  • listing of pre-reqs should be displayed on a page somewhere
  • Division CO's should be able to set pre-reqs as needed
  • admins/Coj/FC disable auto-promotion system as needed

Rank POints as currency

A new system should be created to go along with the revisited rank point system (See above).

  • perhaps if people do not wish to be promoted for fictional reasons, they can turn in their points for other medals/awards
  • perhaps a "get out of TOD" pass could be made. A person can use this pass if they forget to fly a mission for any reason. This should be the most expensive to trade in, as it would require you to be very active. Only usable once. As in one TOD mission, not all TOD missions due that month.
  • RS CCG could be "bought" with some of the rank points.
  • Can be used to "buy" various ABG items/skills/quirks/whatever
  • need other goodies to come up with.

medals and uniforms

uniforms

  • have one style of uniform and only 4 colors. each for the 4 tiers of ranks. (Squad/wing/fleet/rswide) Khaki, green, dark blue, white respectively.
  • admirals should be white, other than that, get a color system worked out

medals

  • club wide medals/ribbons should be labeled "In service to the republic"
  • division wide should be "in service to <division>"
  • Ribbons should be created for all medals. This takes up less space and can be displayed on the uniforms better.
  • Medals should go into a display case in members profiles
  • a select number of medals (no more than 5) should be displayed on the uniform. perhaps the highest ranking medals and a service time medal.. to be determined later
  • Dishonorable mention- worth -x divison/rswide rank points.
  • Dishonorable medal - too many and you get auto demoted
  • Dishonorable medal *ONLY* awarded by CoJ OR the FC, no others allowed to award

Profile changes

bio

  • Should list all divisions they are a member of. Specifically where in that division and what role they play

eg: <name> currently serves in <psg/vsg> as a pilot in <squad> eg: <name> currently serves in <zealot/ABG> under the alias of <list of characters>

uniform

  • See above notes on medals and uniforms. Uniform should be displayed with a text box under stating which ribbons/medals are shown

medals

  • See above notes on medals and uniforms. All club-wide medals should be displayed in a case type display with ribbons immediately above them. If multiple of the same medal is awarded just display one, but put a x2 (or however many) next to the medal.
  • a listing of medals earned should be displayed.
  • maybe display one top medal of a division IF member had a "primary division" listed in their BIO page

history

  • This should auto generate, what squad a member served in and for how long.
  • Should also auto generate held command positions
  • auto-generate promotion history as well

OOC info

  • should hold optional info like facebook,myspace,twitter, etc
  • optional real name
  • most used IRC nick
  • Anything of importance to other members for communication, but isn't directly related to fiction.

Zealot

  • Have a database for characters we can store on people's profiles
  • Similar to the ABG character system, but no Dice needed, and a limit of like 30-40 skills.
  • space to put background info for their characters or what not


Planetary system

  • DB containing planets, x,w,z Coordinates, location, system, sector, defenses, enemies, image, etc
    • ex: id 1, Tarsonis, <x>,<y>,<z>, <system name>, <sector name>, <defenses>, <RS controlled>, <image name>
  • use info from logistics to create an accurate (as much as possible) map
  • use DB info to help populate map
  • We can set Tarsonis as 0,0,0 for x,y,z location as it is RS's home base. We all know Corescant is truly 0,0,0 but since we'll rarely travel out of our location to there, it'll be easier.
  • setup system to calculate distance = time. This helps move our timeline forward
  • Combine GrS system established with ABY system everyone likes. USE BOTH SYSTEMS! Ex: 14.4.44 (9 ABY)
