The Windstorm is a Republic Shield Mon Calamari MC80a Star Cruiser that is currently assigned to the Greeop Defence Force.

History

PBF 110

Head of Republic Shield forces stationed at negotiations with Yridian forces near a navigation buoy in the Yridia system. Led Republic Shield forces in co-ordinating area defence with Yridian forces led by the Frigate Salinger from incursive attacks by hostile Yridian forces from the planet Yridia II, who were displeased with the Yridian IX faction negotiating with Republic Shield forces. During the Yridian attempt to disrupt the negotiations, Imperial forces led by the Star Destroyer Blackheart arrived to launch their own assault on the gathering. Republic Shield and Yridian forces tempered the Yridian and Imperial onslaught, and repulsed them, protecting the negotiation shuttles Freedom and Danari from fire. The Republic Shield–Yridia IX negotiations were successfully concluded and all aggressive forces were pushed from the combat zone, which included the annihilation of most of the attack force, and the retreat of the Star Destroyer Blackheart.

PBF 112

Co-ordinated Republic Shield forces in the defence of the area near navigation buoy YA-05 in the Itanna belt near the planet Yridia IX during delivery of base equipment for the future Republic Shield outpost on the planet Yridia IX. Yridian forces led by the Frigate Yridian Pride helped protect the transfer operation, as transport group Organa entered the area and moved to deliver their cargo to the corvette group Peaceable. Imperial forces led by the corvette group Ravage entered the area and attempted to disrupt the transfer operation, with Republic Shield and Yridian forces led by the vessel and the Frigate Yridian Pride, respectively, providing area defence. Through the efforts of Republic Shield and Yridian forces, the Imperial attack force was broken, and the transfer operation concluded successfully, allowing the construction for an outpost on the planet Yridia IX to proceed.

PBF 201

Ambushed by Imperial forces while attempting to travel from the Minos Cluster to the Greeop Sector. The freighter Decoy arrived and launched a minor Imperial attack force, which Republic Shield forces intercepted. However the Frigate Brand entered the combat zone and led Imperial forces in an assault on the beleaguered vessel. Republic Shield forces managed to hold off the Imperial attack force while the vessel escaped from the combat zone after sustaining some damage.

PBF 202

After escaping from the previous Imperial assault, the vessel was ambushed by Imperial forces led by the Frigate Saladin. However the vessel successfully led Republic Shield forces against the attack force, hammering them, and disabling the Frigate Saladin. The Saladin was then boarded by the transport Conductor, which eventually withdrew from the engagement zone after prisoners being held onboard the frigate were safely secured and extracted. The vessel managed to escape the engagement with fairly extensive damage.

PBF 211

During Republic Shield assault on Willowisp shipyards, the vessel was assaulted by Imperial forces led by the Star Destroyer Darkstar, which used an experimental superweapon to disable all systems onboard the vessel. Imperial forces did not move to destroy the vessel, which allowed repair crews to attend to it. The Calamari Cruiser McGrath co-ordinated Republic Shield forces in defence of the vessel as it underwent repairs, during the Imperial attack on the Frigate Echo Hawk, which was thwarted by Republic Shield forces and reinforcements led by the Calamari Cruiser Valour.

PBF 212

The vessel remained disabled as it underwent extensive repairs when the transport Spry performed docking operations to deliver a replacement hyperdrive to the vessel. Imperial forces led by the Darkstar attempted to foil the repair operations; however Republic Shield forces led by the Calamari Cruiser McGrath repelled the attacks, despite the Darkstar performing microjumps to deliver Imperial attack forces from various angles. Republic Shield forces defeated the Imperial attack force, and the Darkstar ultimately withdrew from the combat zone after the vessel’s repairs allowed it to enter hyperspace.

PBF 301

After being restored to combat readiness, the vessel led Republic Shield forces through an area when Imperial forces led by the Star Destroyer Darkstar ambushed Republic Shield forces. The Star Destroyers Darkstar and Kunder's Pride directly engaged the Frigate Nighthawk, and the corvettes Rogue and Talon VI, which were all annihilated under the fire of the Star Destroyers, while the vessel attempted to flee from the combat zone. Republic Shield forces defended the vessel as it withdrew from the combat zone, sustaining heavy damage as it went.

PBF 305

The vessel was ambushed by Imperial forces led by the Star Destroyer Darkstar. Republic Shield forces defended the vessel as it rushed from the combat zone, dealing severe blows to the pursuing Imperial force, knocking out the Star Destroyers Darkstar and Kunder’s Pride, and driving off the Frigate group Kirsk. The vessel successfully withdrew from the combat zone with heavy damage as victorious Republic Shield forces annihilated all pursuing Imperial attack forces and then returned to the vessel.

PBF 401

Present at the planet Tarsonis, in the Greeop system during Republic Shield reconnaissance mission on the edge of Halas Sector.

PBF 402

Present at the planet Tarsonis during Republic Shield assault on Imperial outpost on the edge of the Halas Sector.

PBF 403

Present at the planet Tarsonis during meeting between Republic Shield and White Guard diplomats, at a White Guard outpost.

PBF 404

Present at Tarsonis during Republic Shield and White Guard reconnaissance mission of Imperial task force.

PBF 409

Attacked by White Guard forces led by the Frigate Unforgiver. White Guard forces, reinforced by the Frigate Minotaur, managed to bring down the vessel’s shields. Only expert manoeuvring of the Frigate Echo Hawk prevented the Windstorm from being destroyed, as the Echo Hawk disrupted the White Guard line of fire and allowed the vessel to escape from the combat zone.

PBF 410

Due to the serious damage suffered in the previous battle, the vessel headed to the nearest repair yard along with the damaged Frigate Echo Hawk, and the command staff relocated to the Calamari Cruiser Valour, via the shuttle Teke's Hand.

PBF 412

After being fully repaired and battle ready once more, waited for the Calamari Cruiser McGrath to join the vessel and the Frigate Echo Hawk before proceeding to the rendezvous point. Came under attack by White Guard forces led by the Frigates Staves and Flasks. Received the shuttle Errata, carrying Colonel Phalon, during the course of the battle. The arrival of the Calamari Cruiser McGrath aided Republic Shield forces in the destruction of the attacking frigates.

PBF 501

Stationed in friendly space after campaigning in Imperial and White Guard territory. Received the landing craft Freedom, carrying Colonel Earthkeeper, from the Calamari Cruiser McGrath.

PBF 504

Stationed near a small asteroid field in the Cadrel Expanse, not far from the blue cloud planet (#47) Theseus in the Oberon system, while awaiting the Frigate Echo Hawk to arrive before proceeding onto the Yeon Lon system. Attacked by Imperial forces led by the Frigate Slasher. Led Republic Shield forces against the Slasher’s forces. Reinforced by the Frigate Echo Hawk, which helped beat back the attacking forces, however the arrival of the Frigate Antic bolstered the weakening Imperial attack force. Successfully drove off the Imperial forces, destroying the enemy frigates.

PBF 508

Arrived to lead Republic Shield reinforcements against Imperial and pirate forces led by the Frigates Falcata and Catapult near a rock planet in the Cadrel Expanse. Backed up by the Frigate Echo Hawk, the vessel led Republic Shield forces in springing the trap, turning the tide of the battle and crushing the Imperial and pirate forces.

PBF 509

Held steady on the edge of the Yuen Lon system while the Calamari Cruiser McGrath led Republic Shield attack on an Imperial warhead factory in the Anshife system. Admiral Borran and repair crews from the vessel prepared to transfer across to the Valour to help speed up repairs from the damage the ship had taken in the previous engagement.

PBF 510

Reinforced Republic Shield forces mustering near two rock planets in the Yuen Lon system, in preparation for a final attack on the weapons facility in the Yuen Lon system. Engaged Imperial forces who were contesting Republic Shield presence of the system, and helped bolstered Republic Shield forces, aiding in the defeat of the attacking Imperial forces, causing the destruction of the Frigates Krechet and Mystic. Launched and helped protect the shuttle Teke’s Hand, which flew through the engagement zone from the vessel from the Valour.

PBF 512

Waited at a rendezvous point for the newly captured weapons factory to arrive, followed by the Calamari Cruiser McGrath. However, Imperial forces staged a last-ditch effort led by the Frigate Quicksilver to prevent Republic Shield forces removing the mobile weapon factory from the Cadrel Expanse. The mobile factory arrived at the rendezvous point as Imperial and Republic Shield forces clashed, and Imperial forces changed their tactics and engaged the factory craft. Led Republic Shield forces in defence of the Outpost factory, to hold out for the McGrath’s arrival. Imperial reinforcements led by the Frigate Vulcan helped concentrate firepower on the Republic Shield resistance, but the McGrath finally arrived, shattering the attack force. Republic Shield forces destroyed the remaining Imperial ships and then proceeded out of the Cadrel Expanse.

PBF 601

Travelling back to the Greeop Sector when the Calamari Cruiser McGrath intercepted Imperial transmissions from a nearby sector. Continued travelling to the Greeop sector while the McGrath launched a reconnaissance force to investigate the origin of the transmissions.

PBF 603

Led Republic Shield forces in pursuit of the Star Destroyer Battleking, which involved navigating an asteroid field. By the time Republic Shield scout forces had reached the Battleking it escaped into hyperspace, leaving the Windstorm trapped in the middle of the asteroid field when an Imperial ambush force of corvettes entered the belt and engaged the vessel at point blank range. One corvette, the Astral Dawn, flew straight into the vessel, destroying the corvette but significantly damaging the vessel, especially its shields. Republic Shield forces defended the vessel as it limped out of the asteroid field to escape, and the remaining corvettes were destroyed before the vessel escaped into hyperspace.

PBF 604

Launched the shuttle Teke’s Hand carrying Vice Admiral Tyrell Borran from the combat zone back to the Greeop Sector. After escaping from the Imperial ambush in the asteroid field the vessel was torn from hyperspace by a local star exploding. The change in gravitational effect combined with the battle damage the vessel had sustained overloaded several systems, rendering hyperspace capability and combat systems offline. Summoned Republic Shield reinforcements to provide replacement systems, and waited near nay buoy AS1CP42 for the ships to arrive. Imperial forces began an assault on the vessel as repair craft arrived with replacement parts. Republic Shield forces defended the vessel and the courier ships, holding them at bay while the freighter Startide delivered its cargo of part, the corvette Keeper delivered its cargo of a replacement hyperdrive, and the corvette Warden delivered its cargo of a replacement shield generator. The Imperial attack force defeated, and the delivery ships safely away, the vessel then began the repair process.

PBF 608

Reinforced Republic Shield forces led by the Calamari Cruiser McGrath, which was under attack by an Imperial ambush force led by the Frigate Dark Blade at the Republic Shield rendezvous point. The McGrath had not fared well, as its deflector shields had been offline from the beginning of the battle. The McGrath’s forces had already dealt with the majority of the Imperial support ships by the time the vessel arrived to lend assistance. Together the vessels drove Republic Shield forces to concentrate firepower on the Imperial frigate, destroying the Dark Blade.

PBF 609

Attended to repairing battle damage while the Calamari Cruiser McGrath led a reconnaissance mission against an Imperial meeting between the Star Destroyers Battleking and Arcanus. The repairs were apparently proceeding well, however the vessel was apparently in no shape to assist the McGrath in its mission.

PBF 612

Rendezvoused with the Calamari Cruiser McGrath in preparation for the final assault against the Star Destroyer Battleking. Operatives aboard the McGrath had successfully derived the location of the Battleking and the Republic Shield force prepared for an engagement with the Star Destroyer. However, Imperial forces managed to locate the McGrath’s force before they could strike, so Republic Shield forces were forced to fight the Imperial task force at the Battleking’s commander’s time of choosing. The vessel along with the Calamari Cruiser McGrath launched Republic Shield forces to engage the Imperial task force. The McGrath led Republic Shield forces against the Star Destroyer Battleking and its escorting frigates and corvettes. Imperial forces led by the Battleking lashed the McGrath’s force, but the Republic Shield forces drove against the attack force. As the McGrath and the vessel started to take serious damage to shield systems, the McGrath signalled a withdrawal of the Republic Shield command ships. The vessel followed the Calamari Cruiser Windstorm from the combat zone, raking the enemy command ships with fire as it went. Withdrew from the combat zone as the Imperial force was beginning to break, and awaited the return of Republic Shield forces as they finished off the Frigates Maelstrom and Phantasm, the corvettes Attrition III and Razorwire, and put a final end to the Star Destroyer Battleking’s marauding campaign. After Republic Shield forces returned to the vessels triumphant, the force set a course for the planet Tarsonis.

PBF 701

Travelled from Tarsonis in the Greeop system out of the Greeop Sector, through the Minos Cluster to patrol the Rimma Trade Route near the planet Adarlon. While stationed near navigation buoy ADL-763-RTR the vessel hailed a convoy consisting of the freighter group Rallek escorted by the corvette Altair. The convoy did not respond to communication attempts. Launched Republic Shield forces, which buzzed the convoy and scanned cargo contents, revealing hidden illicit cargo. The convoy promptly fled into hyperspace along the vector of navigation buoy ALD-793-RTR. The corvette Altair soon returned from the same vector, as part of a pirate attack force led by the Frigate Hammerhead. Republic Shield forces scrambled to counter the newly-arrived threat, and in the ensuing melee the Imperial shuttle Chromium launched from the pirate Frigate Hammerhead signalling intentions to defect. The shuttle was given permission to land, and it entered the vessel’s hangar. The pirate forces soon broke off their main attack, the corvette Altair and Frigate Hammerhead withdrawing from the combat zone while more zealous elements of the pirate force continued to harass the vessel’s forces. Republic Shield forces wiped out the remaining pirate forces, and destroyed some nearby Imperial probes. The altercation was witnessed by the Star Destroyer Arcanus, which silently observed the proceedings before withdrawing from the area without interfering.
