Zealot character system

This is a system for mainly noobs or people who are anal about details. A system like this setups up a guide for you to act in and write out your character a bit more realistically. This also gets your zealot character into your profile.

basics

  • Have all zealot characters displayed on peoples profiles
  • have Owner and zealot CD edit characters as needed
  • deletion only allowed by zealot CS

specifics

website

  • ability to select 20-25 skills both advanced and basic upon creation
  • only show advanced skills one is able to "learn" if they have the pre-requisites
  • skills taken from the ABG sans dice/attribute requirements
  • Zealot Command able to increase skills learned as needed
  • Set a hard cap of like 40-45 skills so no one becomes overpowered (No Shooting stormies in the head at 1000yards!)
  • Zealot command can "upgrade" characters by pushing a button to increase max skills by 1, or by manually setting a number of skills. (No less than 20, no more than whatever the hard cap is)
  • page for Zealot command to update/remove skills as needed

database

  • need 4 separate tables
  • Table1 Profile info
  • Tabel2 Skill heading listing, Dex, Adv Dex, Str, Adv Str, etc
  • Tabel3 Skills listing with reference to table2 for placement
    • table3 should have row to list which skills are advanced
    • table3 should have row to list ids of "basic" skills for pre-reqs for advanced
  • Table4 references tabel1 player id, with table3 skillset ids

This way, tables don't become too cluttered and relatively quick to load. Plus it makes website coding easier. We don't need to list adv skill X unless they have basic skills Y and Z.

details

This way, people can limit themselves to only a few skills that they can roleplay. This allows for more realistic freedoms and less of a chance for people pulling off stunts they normally couldn't do.

Everyone should be able to goto the zealot website and create their own charachter, which upon completion will be viewable in a separate section of the profile (Much like the ABG characters are displayed now).
