After a student's graduation, the RID CO will be informed about the student's graduation. The RID CO will then assign the graduated student to a position in the RID. This may take a few days.

NOTE: All students who sign up for the Academy are to remain active during their time served. All students who do not report in, in any way, shape, or form, may be placed on an Absent Without Official Leave (AWOL) list. The Command Staff reserves the right to remove students at any time for inactivity or misbehavior in the Academy.

To get into action you have to unzip the [http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/roster/itoddb/files/RID101.zip mission file] and save it to your EaW/GameData/Data/CustomMaps folder. (If you have saved the game into its default directory, you should find the EaW directory in the C:/Program Files/Lucasarts directory) 
 
Note: You may have to create a folder in the directory named â€œCustomMapsâ€ to put the mission file in.

In game choose single player - skirmish - space - custom maps , pick the RID 101 mission and you are ready to go. 
 
Play as Rebels, and put one AI as Empire. 
 
Settings: 
- Set the AI difficulty to easy. 
- Heroes, starting units and superweapons are all OFF. 
- Victory Conditions: Destroy enemy 
- Mission to be played on medium game speed. (if you haven't changed it, it should be on medium by default). Forwarding the speed in game is not allowed. 
 
Reporting: 
- Take a screenshot of the screen that appears after the battle ends - the screen where you can see your losses and kills. Report your first run! 
 
(A great screen capture utility is Fraps. Screenshots will be taken by fraps into a directory you define. You can get Fraps at this site: http://www.fraps.com/ It is highly recommended. 
You can also use the 'print screen' button on your keyboard, and Ctrl+v it into the Win painting programe. )

The RID ITOD 101 mission reflects the "[[Battle of Blerthmore]]" in which Imperial remnant forces attacked the homeworld of the Rebel Squadrons. ===What To Do===

Until there is a set standard training mission, you will get a mission from your instructor to download. You will download the mission and extract all the files. Move the file from wherever you downloaded it to, to Computer/Program Files/LucasArts/TIE95

Now, if you have never downloaded a custom mission before, you will need to rename your "Mission" Folder. Rename it as MSNORG (For Mission Original). This way you wont lose your regular missions. Create a new folder, and name it "Mission". This is where you will be placing the files that you have just downloaded. You will need to rename the file "b1m1fm.tie". If there is a briefing, it should automatically come up with the mission. Depending on who wrote the mission for the ITOD, you will also find a .doc file. This is for your convenience so that you have some story line to go with your mission so that you can write a narrative. You also need an INV file in that folder that you will probably have to move over from the original folder.

Once you have your file in the right spot, close your folders, and get to flying! Please Note: When you fly a mission, you have to create a pilot. When you fly a second mission, you '''MUST''' create a '''NEW''' pilot! You '''MAY NOT''' use the same pilot name unless you '''delete''' the original one first. A good way to keep track of what you have done is to actually name your "pilot" the name of the mission. IE: If the Mission Name is "Incoming Personnel", name your "pilot" - "Incoming", "Personnel", or a combination of both. During the ITOD, you can refly the missions as many times as you want, but you still need new pilot files for every refly. Sometimes, you end up with "Incoming19" before you get a score that is halfway acceptable. It happens. Don't worry about it! But by naming them this way, if there is ever a problem with our system, you can always go back and grab your pilot file for verification of your score.

===Report===

When you report for an ITOD, you will use the RS Mission Reporter. We aren't quite up to that yet.

For your very first mission, you will report the score, whether it is a success or a failure. We don't really care what your score is, we just want to know that you get the idea of how to report.

This is what I want you to do:

-Upon completion of your mission, pass or fail, take a screen shot (SS) of the page that has your score on it. Fraps is an excellent SS program, but you have to change the file to a jpg file before you report it, or it wont go through.

-Also for this game, you are required to send in a Pilot File (tfr). To do this, you will need to go to Computer/Program Files/LucasArts/TIE95. You will see the name of your tfr file above the folders. So if you named your pilot "Incoming" you will see "INCOMING.tfr".

-In an email to your instructor, as well as the rest of your squad if you wish you should put what things that you see on your debrief so that we know how you did without opening the picture. (Score, pass/fail, kills, hit%, et al.) Also put your SS and TFR file in this email. And with that, you are done!

===Code Of Conduct===

=====Instructors=====

The Instructors are here to help the new Cadets first and foremost, but are also here to assist the CO of the Academy, since the CO can't do everything by himself/herself. They are to be in constant contact with the Cadets under their designated divisions, as well as reporting to the CO to ensure that nobody is being left unattended. Emails should be sent out to Cadets by their primary instructor WEEKLY, preferably on a Sunday or Monday. The CO of the Academy will send out bi-weekly emails to the Academy as s/he sees fit, on Fridays or Saturdays.

When discussing matters of the Academy, through email or other chat client, both the CO AND the instructors will act professionally and civilly to each other. If the instructors can not, or simply refuse to act accordingly, they will be issued a warning. After 2 warnings, they will be removed from their position on the third offense.

There will be bi-weekly progress reports by email on the 1st and 16th of every month for everyone who has a Cadet under their supervision, even if it just a message to say that progress is slow moving. Failure to report-in 3 times, will result in the removal of the instructor, unless previous notification is given.

=====Cadets=====

The Cadets are here to learn how we do things. You may do this at your leisure, however, you still need to check in once in a while. You need to send an email to your PI once a week, even if it is just "I'm alive; I've been busy." No communication for two weeks in a row from a BP Cadet will result in marking the Cadet as AWOL and the placement of the Cadet on the "Dispositional" list, where they will have one more week to restore contact before being removed from the Academy entirely and being marked as "Reserve".

At the completion of your BP (or at the majority of completion), you will be sent a 6 question survey to fill out. This should take about 2 minutes, at most. The only person this will be emailed to and read by is the CO of the Academy and potentially the Fleet Commander. The purpose is to let us know if we were helpful to you and what we can potentially improve.

===Structure===
The Academy is separated into ''Training Departments'' which are supervised by the Academy Command Staff. The Academy Command Staff is led by the Training Officer/Academy Commanding Officer.
''Training Departments'' will host post-graduate courses for their field of activity. A Training Department is supervised by the Commanding Officer/Command Staff of each respective department. The Training Department instructors will be in charge of leading and evaluating 'students' in the course(s) the instructor will be teaching.

===Field of Activity===
The basic element in the Academy are courses. The FoA of these courses could be split up into:

==Beginner's Path (BP)==
The [[Beginner's Path]] serves as first to-do thing in the RS for new members. It gives an idea of the features a RS member can use on RS.org and makes it possible for a new member to earn their 1st promotion quickly. 
Once a new member joins the RS s/he will be placed into the New Member's Section, contacted and supervised by one of the Primary Instructors.

===Primary Instructors===
Primary Instructors will assist new RS members to achieve the 2LT promotion through the BP. Primary Instructors should be dedicated and informed RS members with knowledge of (or willing to learn) what is going on in the various RS units, and the ability to respond to e-mails within 24 hours. Due to the nature of this position, it will be expected that a Primary Instructor marks himself/herself LOA if s/he is going to be offline for more than 48 hours. Futhermore, a Primary Instructor will be expected to have a presence on IRC and/or Xfire as much as RL permits in order to respond to new members questions.

==The Historical Academy==
The '''RS Academy''' was a fleet that existed from 1997 to May, 2003. The Academy, not surprisingly, served as the entry point into the RS for many years. All new members entered the Academy as Cadets, were trained in an Undergraduate Wing, and then graduated into the Fleet of their choice as full-fledged members. The Academy was also home to several Graduate instruction wings, which provided more specialized training in such disciplines as custom mission creation.

I would like to suggest that for the Master Cadet w/ Honours level that the XvT and XWA requirements have 1 SP mission and 1 MP mission as opposed to simply '2 missionss', as having the requirement of 1 MP mission could help promote more MP activity. Also, I think it should be more clear regarding the submission of screenshots and pilot files, in that pilot files should not be necessary for XvT or XWA since they are not required for standard ITOD submissions.
