'''Vanguard Fleet''' is the Rebel Squadrons's Player Association ('''RSPA''') in LucasArts's/Sony Online Entertainment's MMORPG [[Star Wars: Galaxies]].

The RSPA is well-known as a guild on the Starsider server. Serving with distinction on both the ground and in space since launch, the guild has maintained a steady, solid presence as the dominant Rebel Alliance guild on Starsider. We believe is it the oldest guild on the server as well.

The RSPA is particularly known for its lethalness in starfighter combat, where it currently fields two squadrons: Resurrection Squadron and Sabre Squadron. To compliment our main squadrons we are involved in two inter-guild squadrons, Antinko, lead by [[Leaph Chausew]], and the Vigilantes, lead by the infamous [[Joel Lance]] aka Halyn Lance. The RSPA has a very proud space history, being central to the game's pilot community.

The guild's soldiers also have a proud history in ground combat on Starsider. Past groups have sported the names "Green Squad" and "Xinn's Xealots" as elite ground troops led by soliders and Jedi such as [[Rahj Tharen]], Isoldur Cauthon (aka Trossk), [[Richard Gross]], Badin Flyingwave, and the infamous XHSW, among many others. Current leaders are [[Abi Ocopaqui]] and and one of our much loved Wookiee's [[Anishor]].

The city of New Horizon on Rori is the home to the Vanguard Fleet. It's mayor is [[Richard Gross]]. The RSPA also is home to the crafting group "New Horizon Designs." [[Joshua Arands]] sister, Jesalyn Arands, is the CEO of New Horizon's Designs.

Currently commanded by [[Graxul StarWeaver]], the current command staff includes RSPA legend [[Richard Gross]], A-wing pilot [[Leaph Chausew]], Rebel Space Coordinator [[Anishor]], and several other Starsider notables.

== History ==
The RSPA was founded shortly after the game's launch by [[Wes Belden]] and [[Patrick Blastfire]]. Prior to Vanguard Fleet reaching fleet status, it was known simply as the SWG PA, or Star Wars Galaxies Player Association, and it resided within [[Redemption Fleet]].

During this time the membership gradually grew from around an initial dozen, while the members explored, familiarised and established themselves in game. Moving virtually on foot (as at the time animal mounts and vehicles were not available) from Coronet to Tyrena (two cities on Corellia) was one of the proud achievements at the time which just a few weeks later seemed underwhelming and trivial as the group's characters progressed and the community within the game began to mature.

One thing that did and indeed has not diminished was managing to acquire a Player Association hall so early in the game. The Rebel Squadrons PA (as the SWG PA and now Vanguard Fleet are known in game) is now one of the longest living and well known groups on their server, thanks to the initial efforts of a few in the early stages and the continuing efforts that have followed and indeed continue on to this day.

Its leader, both prior to and after the game's release, was [[Wes Belden]], who, due to his university accommodation messing up his internet connection, disappeared during 2003 between September and December. During this time the PA reached fleet status and was given its current name. Some might argue that his leaving was a blessing (hopefully in disguise) as the PA flourished into a full fleet during his absence (who knows what number of faux pas would have been made had he remained :P).

== Background ==
Born to Sheela and Jurrah Belantia on the family owned asteroid mining operation. Sarriah is an only child with a love for animals and exploring planets, rather than being cooped up in space. However, she was expected to work in the family business. She was allowed to take time away from the family business to get her education. She double majored in both humanoid (her parent's desire) and animal (her desire) medicine.

Before she could start her chosen career, she met her future husband, Boyd James, while visiting her parents. Sarriah became the mining companyâ€™s quartermaster after marriage, still preferring to be dirtside as much as possible.

While on a trip for supplies in her familyâ€™s freighter, the business was attacked by space pirates and all personnel were lost.

Sarriah, unable to cope with so many losses, wandered from planet to planet, until an Alliance recruiter found her rather inebriated in a backwater planetâ€™s cantina. Soon after she joined a secret rebel cell located on Rori,a moon of Naboo, where the community was mostly made up of pilots. Sarriah struggled to remain sober until Halyn Lance , a Zabrak, and Anishor, a Wookiee, befriended her and helped her straighten out her life.

Eventually, as everyone started going their separate ways, Sarriah remained on Rori, and started an animal hospital. She established herself as brilliant research scientist, focusing on animal health improvement. She still prefers to operate out of her reseach center on Rori.

She is an accomplished X-wing pilot with several kills painted on the side of the ship she keeps in the old hanger bay at the mostly abandoned Rebel Outpost on Rori. She still owns the family freighter. She is wealthy in her own right from her business, but the proceeds from the family mining company is always at her disposal although she only used it once to set up her hospital.

== Appearance ==
Brilliant red hair that is mostly natural, tiny wisps of grey would be apparent if she didnâ€™t chemically treat those areas. She sports a very full head of below the shoulder length hair which is usually worn down, except when sheâ€™s flying, then itâ€™s pulled back in a severe bun. Her hands show signs of wear, mostly due to all her research work and hunting for animals. Her piercing green eyes are slightly turned up at the corners. At home, youâ€™d see her in medical jackets, over a t-shirt, and loose fitting pants. She doesnâ€™t consider herself pretty, but rather possessing tolerable looks. Her one flaw, in her opinion, is her lips. They are full and while not overly wide, she hates them.
