Ok, As I'm making a new site, now is the perfect time to tell me things that you would to see, things that need improvement, things that suck, or anything else. Please note, things may or may not be done in a timely manner. Josh is still learning this new system. However, so far things looks pretty straight forward. Please do NOT tell me to move menus around or place things wherever. That will just get ignored. That's for the designer, not the coders. [Basic definitions: Developers/coders: "I have this shit, where do you want it?"; Designers: Put it here, with this size and type of font. Put that other shit there, and stuff that other shit somewhere so I don't have to see it.]

Please also keep an eye on this. I'll try and make notes in the discussion section. Also, the discussion section is a great place to expand and explain your thoughts.

Things we would like to see
* A streamlined method for handling retro missions (complete with the mission links/info on the side of the main site) that doesn't require reuploading them as ITODs for the monthly sessions would be nice.
*An easy way to track a leaderboard and upload activity in one fine form? pick the platform, the number of people, screen shot and go from there? maybe 2 one for pvp and pve? to help stream line things down and make it easier.

Things that need improvement
*

Things that need to go away
*

Things that don't fit in other categories
About
The Empire at War Under-graduate Course (short EaW UG Course) is here to make sure that new members have the necessary skills to be able to participate in the Rebel Squadrons' Empire at War unit, the Righteous Indignation Division (short RID).
EaW UnderGrad Course Instructor: LCL Teu Veld

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the EaW academy there are some requirements that must be met.
*Must be at least LJG
*Must be active during time in the EaW Academy

All submissions must be sent to the current EaW Instructor in this case Teu Veld.

There are three levels of graduation; each level has different requirements in addition to the ones above.

Cadet - Award: Ribbon:
* Play the RID ITOD 101 mission and send a screenshot of the results screen to the EaW UG Instructor. The RID ITOD 101 mission can be downloaded here.
Senior Cadet - Award: Medal:
*Play the RID ITOD 101 mission and send a screenshot of the results screen to the EaW Instructor.
*For the second part of this, you have a choice. You may choose to:

*a) Write a Personal Narrative, narrative, which should have at least 2 paragraphs describing what happened in your mission run (500 words or more).
OR
*b) Play at least one Multiplayer match with another RID member. To arrange a match use Xfire or go to the IRC channel #RID. Take a screenshot during that match and send the EaW Instructor that screenshot.

Master Cadet with Honors - Award: Medal:
* Play the RID ITOD 101 mission and send a screenshot of the results screen to the EaW Instructor.
* Write a Personal Narrative (500 word MINIMUM)
*Play a MultiPlayer match with another RID member and send in the screenshot of the results page.

Help: RID ITOD 101 Installation and Instructions
To get into action you have to unzip the mission file and save it to your EaW/GameData/Data/CustomMaps folder. (If you have saved the game into its default directory, you should find the EaW directory in the C:/Program Files/Lucasarts directory)

Note: You may have to create a folder in the directory named “CustomMaps” to put the mission file in.

Remember to have the current patch installed which can be found Here
In game choose single player - skirmish - space - custom maps , pick the RID 101 mission and you are ready to go.
Play as Rebels, and put one AI as Empire.

Settings:

* Set the AI difficulty to easy.
* Heroes, starting units and superweapons are all OFF.
* Victory Conditions: Destroy enemy
* Mission to be played on medium game speed. (If you haven't changed it, it should be on medium by default). Forwarding the speed in game is not allowed.

Report
When you play EaW for the ITOD, you will be reporting through the Mission Report System. We aren't quite up to that yet! The Academy Mission Report System isn't out just yet, so in the meantime, you should take a screenshot of the screen that appears after the battle ends - the screen where you can see your losses and kills. Please email all reports and narratives to your instructor for confirmation. Report your first run!

A great screen capture utility is Fraps. Screenshots will be taken by fraps into a directory you define. You can get Fraps at this site: http://www.fraps.com/ It is highly recommended, however, if you use fraps, while you are just emailing your instructor, you can leave it as the file it automatically saved in. When you report on one of the Mission Report Systems, you will have to remember to change the file from bmp to jpg or it won't go through. You can also use the 'print screen' button on your keyboard, and Ctrl+v it into the Win painting program.

After a student's graduation, the RID CO will be informed about the student's graduation. The RID CO will then assign the graduated student to a position in the RID. This may take a few days. If the student should be interested in joining a certain RID Task Force, s/he should let the EaW Instructor know before graduation.

Fictional Background of the RID 101 Mission
The RID ITOD 101 mission reflects the "Battle of Blerthmore" in which Imperial remnant forces attacked the homeworld of the Rebel Squadrons. RS Academy students get to replay this mission in a simulator to understand what started the current combat operations the student is going to join after graduation.

The RS-wide ITOD 101 mission narrative can be found here: http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/news/read?id=861

Once you have played the RID ITOD 101 mission, you might want to have a look on the following two narratives:

To get into action you have to unzip the mission file and save it to your EaW/GameData/Data/CustomMaps folder. (If you have saved the game into its default directory, you should find the EaW directory in the C:/Program Files/Lucasarts directory)

Note: You may have to create a folder in the directory named “CustomMaps” to put the mission file in.

Remember to have the current patch installed which can be found Here
In game choose single player - skirmish - space - custom maps , pick the RID 101 mission and you are ready to go.
Play as Rebels, and put one AI as Empire.

Settings:

- Set the AI difficulty to easy.

- Heroes, starting units and superweapons are all OFF.

- Victory Conditions: Destroy enemy

- Mission to be played on medium game speed.

* http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/news/read?id=865
* http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/news/read?id=885

NOTE:
All students who sign up for the Academy are to remain active during their time served. All students who do not report in, in any way, shape, or form, may be placed on an Absent Without Official Leave (AWOL) list. The Command Staff reserves the right to remove students at any time for inactivity or misbehavior in the Academy.
Take a screenshot during that match and send the EaW UG Instructor that screenshot.

Please email all reports and narratives to your instructor for confirmation.

After a student's graduation, the RID CO will be informed about the student's graduation. The RID CO will then assign the graduated student to a position in the RID. This may take a few days.
If the student should be interested in joining a certain RID Task Force, s/he should let the EaW UG Instructor know before gradaution.

NOTE: All students who sign up for the Academy are to remain active during their time served. All students who do not report in, in any way, shape, or form, may be placed on an Absent With Out Leave (AWOL) list. The Command Staff reserves the right to remove students at any time for inactivity or misbehavior in the Academy.

(if you haven't changed it, it should be on medium by default). Forwarding the speed in game is not allowed.

Reporting:
- Take a screenshot of the screen that appears after the battle ends - the screen where you can see your losses and kills. Report your first run!

(A great screen capture utility is Fraps. Screenshots will be taken by fraps into a directory you define. You can get Fraps at this site: http://www.fraps.com/ It is highly recommended.
You can also use the 'print screen' button on your keyboard, and Ctrl+v it into the Win painting programe. )
