A low hum reverberated through his helmet as the life support<br />
unit kicked in. Still dazed by the collision, the pilot could only watch as his fighter made a slow spin through the debris and flaming gases that had once been his flight wing.<br />
It would only be a matter of time before he joined the fate of his colleagues, the trouble was, who were his colleagues? He had no recollection of them... in fact who was he?<br />
<br />
The battle had been fast and furious. Only by sheer good luck had he survived the terrible misfortune that befell his wingmen. Their flight of Z95's had been in tight formation on escort duty around a group of freighters bearing some much needed bacta, when the first torp struck!<br />
<br />
In a blinding flash of molten super heated fragments the lead Z95 fighter disintegrated, much to the disbelief of the rest of the wing. There had been no lock-on signal, nothing on the scanners to indicate a threat, yet within moments the serene grandeur of space became a living hell...<br />
<br />
'Kiwi's' fate arrived in the form of his No3 breaking high and to the left, while 'Kiwi' had been forced high and right from the spectacular destruction of their wing leader... The collision burnt out every working instrument, and left 'Kiwi' disabled and vulnerable. The enemy were a flight of Imperial Tie Advance fighters, backed up by Assault Gunboats and Transports.<br />

The type of hit and fade operation the Empire now resorted to... The Assault Guns were disabling the freighters, while the transports boarded, obvious capture tactics... 'Kiwi' watched as one by one the freighters were requisitioned.<br />
<br />
Without warning and as they had appeared, they were gone. Leaving 'Kiwi' to reflect on what had just happened... As the life support started to diminish, 'Kiwi' started to slip into unconsciousness, but before total blackout occurred there was a faint crackle over his helmet com... <br />
"Gold two to base, I've got something"...<br />
then 'Kiwi' drifted away... <br />
