Tenchi's moon, [[Shonagon]], is the one planetoid with somewhat livable conditions. Several species of plant life and hardy reptilians live on the surface of the moon, which may explain why the Old Republic chose to place their listening facility here. The facility itself is using centuries old equipment, and is of no strategic value.
