Imperial vessel. Head of an Imperial task force.
History
Arrived near a volcanic planet with asteroid ring (#95), where Imperial forces led by the Star Destroyer Predator had failed to destroy a Republic Shield convoy in an ambush. By the time the vessel arrived both the convoy and the Imperial task force had withdrawn, leaving the vessel to frighten off the lingering Republic Shield forces from the combat zone with its mere presence, preventing pursuit of the Imperial forces. (IBG503)
Arrived near an aqua gas planet (#51) during a battle between Imperial forces led by the Frigate Invader and Republic Shield forces led by the Assault Frigate Titan. Exited hyperspace a distance from the combat zone, and surveyed what had seemed to be an Imperial ambush of a Republic Shield convoy was revealed to be bait for an ambush of the Imperial forces. The vessel withdrew from the combat zone before the Imperial forces were defeated and did not bother entering the battle. Republic Shield forces completely defeated the Imperial forces caught in the ambush, destroying the entire task force as the vessel entered hyperspace. (IBG505)
Headed the Imperial task force stationed near the blue cloud planet (#47) Theseus in the Oberon system. Scanned by Republic Shield reconnaissance force. Attempted to prevent the reconnaissance force from completing its mission, but failed, allowing the Republic Shield force to escape with its reconnaissance data. Withdrew from the staging point with the rest of its task force. (IBG506)
Modifications
Behind the Scenes
The existence of too many Executor-class Star Dreadnoughts in one remote region of the Outer Rim was an issue addressed by the Logistics Office. The appearances of this ship in IBG Tour 5 were as the Malac’s Ire, which introduced yet another superfluous Super Star Destroyer to the mix. The appearance of the vessel in this campaign was retroactively determined to be the at-large Super Star Destroyer Blade by the Logistics Office. The original appearance of the Blade in Operation: Blade, of which it appeared once, has been changed to that of the Super Star Destroyer Patriarch, which is hunted down in a major campaign following that meeting.
