History: Growing up on Kuat, Drak had one of two choices with what to do with his life. Stay home and try and rebuild his families business, or enlist for military duty. Working within the shipyard was all he had known before. Running the shipyard turned out to be more trouble than it was worth so off to the Imperial academy it was. When he enlisted, is brother was thirteen and was staying with an aunt they’d never known until his parents crashed their speeder into a highrise after a particularly long night of partying.

He graduated a year later at the top of his class with a naval commission. He didn’t stop learning there though; he was assigned to one Captain Blanton on board the IMS Braddock. The man wasn’t the best captain the ship had ever seen, but Drak learned from Blanton’s mistakes. Drak stood by following orders. He was reassigned two years later to the outer rim, aboard a very old and very decrepit Carrack cruiser, IMS Gralcen. It’s compliment of TIE’s were top guns from what the reports told, what they didn’t tell was the pilots hadn’t done any sort of fighting for at least three years. The captain had obviously been avoiding pirates and smugglers, which made Drak wonder what he had been doing since the Gralcen had been assigned out this far. After nearly six months on the edge of nowhere, Drak saw his first combat action. I privateer jumped the Gralcen at the edge of a gravity well. It had either only been a small microjump out, or it had been tailing the Gralcen for days. Either way, it hit hard.

One rarely sees a fully complimented CR-9o Assassin Corvette in the hands of pirates. But, it’s fighter compliment of 6 Uglies wasn’t all that uncommon. The Gralcen should have been more then a match for a CR-90, and its TIE’s should have chewed up the uglies in nothing flat. As it stood, the engagement lasted 10 minutes and only one TIE survived. The Gralcen had only suffered minor battle damage, but that was all she had been able to inflict on the CR-90 as well. And 3 of her Uglies made it home. It was a victory for the Gralcen, but a bitter sweet one if any.

The tour of duty was a waste of Imperial resources, and the Gralcen was eventually recalled for refit and repair, which suited Drak just fine, he needed time in the core to refit himself, and jump ship. As it turned out, his brother had joined the Rebel's. Why, Drak would never know. Maybe it had something to do with not having a real family, or maybe he had just wanted an out. Either way, he was the only family Drak had, so that is where Drak would be going too. He just hoped the Alliance wasn’t the lost cause the Empire made it out to be.
