The Echo Hawk was a Republic Shield KDY EF76-B Nebulon-class escort frigate that served as the escort of the Redemption in the Subterrel Strike Force before being destroyed on 44:3:21.

History

Before being assigned to the Subterrel Strike Force Echo Hawk was a support craft and escort for the Windstorm in Hope Wing of the Patriot Battle Fleet.

Captured from Republic Shield shipyard in the Minos Cluster by Imperial forces. Targeted by Republic Shield forces, which launched a reclamation operation to capture the vessel from Imperial forces. The accompanying Imperial defences were destroyed, and the vessel disabled, opening the way for capture operations. The shuttle Mac's Pride entered the combat zone and commenced docking operations the vessel, in preparation for storming and capturing the vessel. However, Imperial reinforcements, led by the corvette group Drv'tk, intervened, disrupting the reclamation efforts and shooting the transport off the vessel’s hull. The shuttle group Dry'nk entered under the protective cover of the Imperial attack force, and attempted to restore operational status to the disabled frigate. Republic Shield forces prevented this from happening, destroying the shuttle group Dry’nk, and eventually annihilating the corvette group Drv’tk, opening the way for the shuttle Dew's Trust to perform docking operations and execute a capture operation of the vessel. Despite Imperial attempts to prevent it, the vessel was captured by Republic Shield forces, and withdrew from the combat zone to be properly refitted for combat duty. (PBF206)

After being liberated from Imperial forces, the vessel required extensive refits. However in the interim, the shuttles Dew’s Trust and Phalon's Folly rendezvoused with the vessel to deliver replacement shield generators and missiles, respectively. Imperial forces led by the Frigate Hatchet launched an assault on the resupply operation, however Republic Shield forces defended the vessel and its resupply craft, thwarting the Imperial attack and allowing the resupply operation to be completed. (PBF207)

Assaulted by Imperial forces led by the Star Destroyer Darkstar, immediately after the strike on the Calamari Cruiser Windstorm which knocked the flagship out of commission. Republic Shield forces enacted in a defence against the Imperial forces, successfully holding the attacking forces at bay long enough for Republic Shield reinforcements led by the Calamari Cruiser Valour to arrive and drive the Imperial forces from the combat zone. Withdrew from the combat zone, battered but intact. (PBF211)

Led Republic Shield forces in an assault on an Imperial supply line that was crucial for Imperial forces in the region. Imperial forces led by the Frigate Black Rain attempted to enact defences, but were unable to prevent the Republic Shield assault. Directly engaged and destroyed the corvette group AA-963 and the convoy, including the defences led by the Frigate Black Rain. When the Imperial supply convoy was destroyed, Republic Shield forces withdrew from the combat zone. (PBF303)

Led Republic Shield reconnaissance forces to scout a possible staging area, which turned out to be the location of the Imperial task force led by the Star Destroyer Darkstar. Waved off the waiting Republic Shield forces, preventing them from entering the combat zone and being ambushed. Withdrew from the combat zone after preventing a massacre sustaining light to moderate damage. (PBF304)

Part of the fleet build-up near an old white star (#85), preparing to assault the Tarla Minor Shipyards. Present at the build-up during a Republic Shield assault of an Imperial convoy by a task force led by the Calamari Cruiser Engel. (IBG101)

Led capture operation of the newly constructed Frigate Black Rain II by engaging Imperial forces while Republic Shield forces disabled the Black Rain II. A two-pronged commando assault then was undertaken by the transport Hawk and the corvette Onigami. The Echo Hawk and its forces then covered the newly-captured Black Rain II as it led the escape from the shipyards. (PBF309)

Part of Republic Shield task force led by the Calamari Cruiser Windstorm, attacked by White Guard forces led by the Frigate Unforgiver. White Guard forces, reinforced by the Frigate Minotaur, concentrated their firepower on the Windstorm, collapsing its shields. Only expert manoeuvring of the vessel prevented the Windstorm from being destroyed, as the vessel effectively blocked the Frigate Unforgiver from firing directly upon the fleeing Calamari Cruiser. The Windstorm was able to escape the engagement, and reinforcements in the form of the Frigate Rebel Vengeance arrived to help beat back the White Guard attack. The Frigate Unforgiver, already weakened by combined fire from the Echo Hawk and the Windstorm, was destroyed, and the Frigate Minotaur was forced from the system when its deflector shields were disabled. (PBF409)

Due to the damage suffered in the previous battle, the vessel headed to the nearest repair yard along with the heavily damaged Calamari Cruiser Windstorm. (PBF410)

After being fully repaired and battle ready once more, waited for the Calamari Cruiser McGrath to join the vessel and the Calamari Cruiser Windstorm before proceeding to the rendezvous point. Came under attack by White Guard forces led by the Frigates Staves and Flasks. Defended the shuttle Errata, which carried Colonel Phalon, which entered the Windstorm’s hangar bay. The arrival of the Calamari Cruiser McGrath aided Republic Shield forces in the destruction of the attacking frigates. (PBF412)

Reinforced the Calamari Cruiser Windstorm, which had come under attack by Imperial forces led by the Frigate Slasher near a small asteroid field in the Cadrel Expanse, not far from the blue cloud planet (#47) Theseus in the Oberon system. Helped beat back the attacking forces, however the arrival of the Frigate Antic bolstered the weakening Imperial attack force. Successfully drove off the Imperial forces, destroying the enemy frigates. (PBF504)

Arrived as part of Republic Shield reinforcements led by the Calamari Cruiser Windstorm against Imperial and pirate forces led by the Frigates Falcata and Catapult near a rock planet in the Cadrel Expanse. The vessel backed up the Windstorm in springing the trap, turning the tide of the battle and crushing the Imperial and pirate forces. (PBF508)

Received orders to rendezvous with the Calamari Cruiser Windstorm, which had just escaped from an ambush in an asteroid field. However, the Windstorm’s hyperdrive failed, so it is unlikely that the ship made it to the rendezvous point with the vessel. (PBF604)
