Lieutenant Junior Grade is the first rank at squadron level. It is the lowest rank within the Rebel Squadrons. All new members either start with this rank or at Second Lieutenant if they fulfill special requirements. The promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade is achieved by a Cadet graduating from the Academy or by earning the Beginner's Path Ribbon.[[1]]
Command Possibilities
In theory, LJGs could be eligible to hold minor command positions (Squadron SO, Assistant Executive Officer), but usually they don't hold any.
