Biography

Tall, dark and somewhat handsome best fit Orian LaCarde. Standing at a towering two meters, he is nothing short of formidable. Shoulder-length brown hair cascades down his head, framing menacing features, such as strong, high cheek bones and a constant, firm and quite unpleasant frown welded onto his face. Brown, almond eyes complete the set, but tell a completely different tale: years of destruction, chaos and death.

Orian originally hails from Alderaan, in a small agricultural community just off the eastern seaboard of the main continent. At the age of 17, he married his life-long love, Jesca Thelu, and set out creating his own shipping company with the small fortune his parents, Leilu and Vroch LaCarde, granted to him upon his advancement into adulthood. Despite having heard of a galactic civil war, he had no desire to participate. He simply wanted to live out a peaceful life and let the war transpire on its own.

Set on becoming a businessman, he took the first shuttle to Corellia to finance a freighter, a YT-1400 called Demon II. It was a rustic piece of equipment, but he bought it on the spot, managed a few upgrades for it, and immediately set off back to Alderaan.

...only to find it nonexistant.

The course was correct. The coordinates were correct. But instead of finding the lovely blue sphere that was his home, there was nothing more than a debris field where Alderaan once was.

Several months, and Orian managed to snake his way through life as a private contractor, shipping around various orders for various customers, some rather unsavory, some quite prestigious. He did his best to avoid shipping parts for various factions, but there was one run.....

The durasteel crates were simplistic enough, as was the manifest. Everything checked out: a medicinal run to a place known only as the Twilight Colony. It would later turn out that he supplied the parts necessary to compliment an entire troup of Imperial coverts that later annihilated the colony.

That was the straw that broke the dewback's back. Unable to cope with having assisted in the destruction of an entire colony, Orian LaCarde, at the young age of 18, found refuge within the Rebellion. Instantly, he fell into their ranks, not only for his deft adaptation to the Rebellion's primary starfighter, the Incom T-65 X-Wing, but also for his Alderaanian heritage.

Orian would later serve the Rebellion through the years with several fighter groups, including Guardian, Blue and Grey, whom he flied with at the Battle of Endor. He never made it inside the Death Star, as he was forced to eject from his B-Wing during the battle, to be rescued later by an EV shuttle. In that battle alone, he accounted for thirteen TIE kills.

Shortly after hearing word of the creation of a secondary fleet, also known as the Rebel Squadrons, Orian immediately put in an application for transfer, hoping to see continued battles out on the front lines. He tried applying for Rogue Squadron, but his "skills aren't quite suited for the group of people Rogue Squadron is to become," as replied by Commander Antilles.

Today, he serves the Rebel Squadrons as a decorated Lietenant Colonel, primarily performing ground-based missions, but also making sure to get in plenty of flying time.
