Under "Squadrons", it is mentioned that three XWA and XvT squadrons will be moved into VSF from their respective old fleets. However, all four current RgF squads are listed beneath that sentence. Which is correct as those pieces of information seem to conflict (or are both correct somehow)? Xtremegene 19:12, 30 July 2006 (EDT)

That was my bad. Initially, we were going to keep three form each, but the RgF has grown so much that it looks like we'll keep all four squadrons now. Hence why we move to squadrons of 15 instead of opening another squadrons. I didn't want to have to open one, just to close it two months later. Hopefully, that clarifies that now. --Rekio 10:18, 31 July 2006 (EDT)

LIC

I think it might be wise to talk to Vender or me before making big changes to LIC ;) To only dofference between XvT and XWA here is the racing found in SCL. I don't see there's any need to make any changes here, as we've treated DL and SCL as separate competitions all the time, with each having their own medals. As for LIC merits, they'll have to be adjusted to the new merit system in the new fleet. The way they are today, is the result of work from Vender, Reab, and me. The idea is to have a good balance between ITOD and LIC; that is also why the LIC period is two weeks, not four. I will strongly encourgae this being kept so. THe most important thing for LIC activity is that one officer gets the responsibility to keep it alive and kicking, by making LIC NL's, handing out medals and merits and so on. If we have one doing this actively, the fleet staff will not need do much about it at all. But if the LIC officer is slow and not doing his or her job, then LIC will suffer right away. Just make sure you have a good LIC officer, and I bet a lot more flying will take place.

Flying Proposal

I have an idea that I would really like implemented in some method.

The simply explanation being 'fly once, report, then refly for score'.

This would greatly help make our Interactive Tours of Duty to be Interactive.

If we could get pilots to fly once, give a brief report on what happened (fail, pass, brief description of what happened, who died, etc.), then let them refly ad infinitum to get the best score before the deadline.

This would help us actually have things happen, since even the most ace pilots would screw up every now and again, which from a storyline perspective, is far more satisying than 'win, win, win, win, win . . . ' --Cmdr. David Vaughan 06:19, 6 August 2006 (EDT)

In a way I support this, but this would inevitably lead to the fleet being destroyed and annihilated.
There are missions that almost noone completes on the first run, and then what? Ooops, suddenly all that is left of our fleet is Richo and Spokes...But as a general idea, I support it.

Hmm . . . I'm sure that we could do it in such a way that we wouldn't lose ships all the time. Obviously we would have to temper mission planning to take into consideration the fact that we don't necessarily want to lose all our ships . . .
It has worked before with other flight fleets in the past . . . it's merely a tradition that has been lost over time (mostly due to a lack of mission builders with enough time to make a fully interactive TOD . . .).
I feel that we could plan ways for this to happen . . . especially since a ship is not officially lost unless at least half of the fleet lose it in their run through the mission. --Cmdr. David Vaughan 07:04, 6 August 2006 (EDT)

Wings

Hehe, finally. I've been knocked in the head many, many times when I said the Wings ought to die, so I'm now dancing joyfully when I see this is going to happen :) Very good.

Medals

I'd suggest we take the current medals, then see which ones we can transfer over and which ones not, then rename them as needed.

As for LIC medals, please note we have separate sets for DL and SCL.

For Tour Champion, this is an RS wide medal and already exists, so no need to make this one.

Merits

":)
Hi folks, I'm going to Be Bold and use the participation merit system I once proposed at Common ITOD as the basis of our new combined fleet, since we don't really have a proposal yet for squadron competition... -Licah Fox 14:43, 9 August 2006 (EDT)

Yeah, merits once more

More on merit points

Sorry for picking on what seems like details, but this:

- first, I don't see any need to have limitations on the historical mission merits. We only have a limited number of old missions anyway, and if a pilot wants do to them all in one weekend, then let him. The available number of missions will increase over time, but we can all fly and report on those missions we didn't report in on when they was "live". I see absolutely no reason for this limitation.

- second, I strongly disagree on the suggestion for MP. If we're going to let LIC be the basis for the MP activity in the new fleet, it will require a different merit system for this. I see no reason not to use LIC; if the missing racing option in XvT is seen as a big hinderance, then let's go back to focusing solely on Domination League (I will see this as a big loss for the XWA pilots, though). The system of one point per match played is no good; this way a couple of pilots can easily spend a sunday night and win lots of points. This happened in the old IBG system. LIC is similar to the TOD, and ought to be similar in the way we win merit points. Just take the existing system and blow up the points to match the rest of the system.

- third, I think the number of points for the mission makers is far to low. I don't say this because I'm a mission maker myself, but at least the way we do this in the IBG, the mission maker is expected to be moderate when it comes to actually flying the mission, thus limiting his chance of earning points that way. Also, making missions for XWA is rather time consuming, and ought to be payd better. I also think we should give merits to the mission tester; if done right, the testing is quite some job.

- fourth, we should have a way for the IO people to earn points for their job. Where would we be without them?
