Some template issues could use your attention

Check out Battle of Blerthmore. Several problems here.

  1. the battle template is not accepting the image that I placed in it. This is now fixed.
  2. the battle infobox is being infringed upon by the text and headings. Fixed now? I edited Template:Update accordingly.
  3. there appears to be some issue with the way images get aligned. Or maybe this is just because there's no text on the page yet.--Dave 15:16, 26 January 2007 (EST) I believe these issues do not relate directly to the template, but are caused by the table of contents. Yes, try more text. -Licah 16:15, 26 January 2007 (EST)
  • Cool, it all looks good.--Dave 18:05, 27 January 2007 (EST)

Ignore me

I spy a Licah again... if you're suffering through mid-terms about now, you're not the only one!. Xtremegene 21:44, 5 March 2007 (EST)

Licah Effect

Sounds a bit like the Super effect. lol Fcsuper 23:17, 16 July 2007 (EDT)

Muwahahaha

Heh, apparently we both feel like massive wiki work today, :P

HeavyD 16:16, 19 January 2009 (EST)

Yes indeed. I went on IRC to see if you were around :P What happened to User:RS David, which you used as recently as two months ago? Noticed it while working on some Commando Division stuff. -Licah 16:21, 19 January 2009 (EST)
I really have no idea. In fact I can't even really remember putting something in my talk page ever... Ah well.
HeavyD 16:26, 19 January 2009 (EST)
Well I'll be. Apparently there is both a Rs_david and RS_David account on there. Not fully sure why, but there is. I'm going to guess that it's because of one of two reasons: I created the rs_david one first thinking that the name would be all lowercase, and then correcting when I found out about the case-sensitive, or I forgot the password at one point a few years ago and created a new account resulting in a flip-flop between use of the two accounts, :P. Is there any chance of being able to merge the two users or delete one of them, Licah?

Sysop

I need to be promoted to sysop I think. i cannot edit the main page talk. I'm a trusted contributor on wikipedia.org, and a sysop on other quasi-commercial wiki. — fcsuper (What?, Where!) (Inclusionistic Eventualist ) — 19:34, 19 January 2009 (EST)

Thanks! and thanks for noticing the cool stuff. Although, the code for my signature is messy when I use it and then edit. I've made a template on another wiki that keeps the code clean. I'll bring it over here soon. — fcsuper (What?, Where!) (Inclusionistic Eventualist ) — 23:11, 19 January 2009 (EST)

Actually, nevermind, I guess this our version of metawiki automatically adds a SUBST statement to the sign when using a template. Oh well. it is what it is. Cool to look at on the reading page, and an explosion of code on the edit page. — fcsuper (What?, Where!) (Inclusionistic Eventualist ) — 23:36, 19 January 2009 (EST)

One idea that won't be too ...

For your discussion on main/talk, I've commented with a possible idea. It shouldn't be too much trouble to set up. — fcsuper (What?, Where!) (Inclusionistic Eventualist ) — 10:56, 21 January 2009 (EST)

Candidates for Deletion

Hey there Licah. I've been perusing the wiki a bit, particularly the special pages which show items needing updating, deleting, etc., and the "Candidates for Deletion" category got me thinking. How often do we actually go in and look at these marked pages? I did some looking and saw some which were tagged over a year ago and haven't been touched since. I deleted a few obvious ones, but didn't want to go on a spree before talking over it with someone.

Thanks / Edit summaries?

Heavy, the amount of work you've put into this in the past few days has been extraordinary.. it will really make the wiki more unified, better organized, and easier to use. Thank you for this. I've pointed out your efforts to some higher-ups :D

I'm wondering if, while you do this work, you could add brief edit summaries in the space provided? Even just "delete?" for a {{delete}} tag would be enough to let other users know what you've proposed without having to click "show edit differences". It takes a second or two more per article but is worth it in the big picture, I think. -Licah 12:25, 5 February 2009 (EST)

Aye, I'll see if I can start putting in some more summaries for you. And with regards to the merge or simple redirect... the wiki drives itself off a database, right? With posts/edits/etc linked to a user's ID number, correct? Might it be possible to run an SQL query to search for the IDs I want to change from and then replace with the one I want it to change to? Just some food for thought.
As for all the editing I've done, it's part "this needs to really be cleaned up" and part "I'm so bloody bored at work", :P. - HeavyD 12:31, 5 February 2009 (EST)

Categories

Licah, some items which I would like to bring to your attention for comments and ideas:

Categorization and sorting

There's some links at the bottom to the mediawiki category descriptor page, as well as a wiki extension for making categories expandable/collapsable, thus getting a tree view. Might be cool to look into and add in.

HeavyD 14:49, 20 February 2009 (EST)

User merge extension link...

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:User_Merge_and_Delete

Have a gander. Might be worth looking into, as there are a few people who have multiple accounts on here. - HeavyD 11:53, 26 February 2009 (EST)

Some ITOD stuff which I've been messing with

You were the one who had originally made the RgF 409 page, and with the starship documenting task moving along so well I decided to take the ITOD page idea and build it up to something with a beefed up layout. I thought you might like to have a look at it and give some feedback.

I've also sent the links to Spokes and Castor so that they can either make the information gathering an activity for the PBF/PSG members or something of that sort instead of doing it all myself.

Recent bout of spam

Hey there Licah. If you take a look at the recent changes, you'll see that we are apparently experiencing a bit of a spambot issue here. I think it might be wise to keep a watch on this and possibly be prepared for moderating user creation (at least for a short period of time).

Licah, what do the Autoblock messages mean at http://wiki.rebelsquadrons.org/index.php/Special:Ipblocklist ? - HeavyD 14:45, 27 May 2009 (EDT)

Template options for task forces

Hey there Licah. I'm thinking I want to show which ships were destroyed in a task force in the template as well, however I'm not quite sure how I want to represent it. So, I've currently come up with two options. Please let me know your thoughts!

Task Force Template Options

articles that need updating when FC changes

May I suggest some sort of marking, tag, hatnote or category that can be used to ID articles that need to be updated each time the FC changes? — fcsuper (What?, Where!) (Inclusionistic Eventualist ) — 00:09, 14 September 2009 (EDT)

There you have it :) Licah 11:32, 15 September 2009 (EDT)

Thanks

":) Yeah, well, thanks for the admin status, I really appreciate it, Licah.
