Overview

• At this point, there were ten thousand Jedi Knights in the galaxy.
• The Tapani Sector entered into what would be later known as the Imperial Era (12 689 - 12 724 by their domestic calendar).
• Around this time, Wilhuff Tarkin was elected Lieutenant Governor or Eriadu, owing to family connections. This came only after he left the Outland Regions Security Force to pursue politics.
• The Neimoidian Trade Federation and the Old Republic clashed over trade routes. As a result, the Federation decided to invade the respected planet of Naboo as an example to other planets who refused to accede to their demands. Their first act was to blockade the planet.
• In the Galactic Senate, Senator Palpatine and Queen Amidala of Naboo informed the Senate that the Trade Federation had aggressively landed armed forces on the world and locked down the entire planet. The Federation ambassador, for their part, protested his outrage of the accusation and used political manoeuvring to delay proceedings. When the Supreme Chancellor acceded to protocol, the Naboo leader called for a vote of no confidence on Valorum, who was not acting swiftly enough to save her people.
• On Coruscant, Bail Antilles of Alderaan, Ainlee Teem of Malastare, and Palpatine of Naboo run for the Chancery election.
• On Naboo, Queen Amidala returned to her homeworld and ousted the military presence of the Trade Federation, with the Federation leadership arrested by the Republic.

• Palpatine of Naboo was elected as Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic.

After 3:4:14

• Thanks to the scrutiny on Sienar Design Systems from a mysterious Sith craft discovered on Naboo, Republic Sienar Systems closed down Sienar Design Systems (which Sienar would revive later as his Advanced Projects Laboratory).
• As word of the Trade Federation's defeat at Naboo reached the Cularin System, the pirates hired by the Neimoidians to harass the Metatheran Cartel's interests abruptly switched sides. Control of the legal trade in the system was now fully in Metatheran Cartel control.
• In the wake of the Battle of Naboo, the Trade Federation distanced itself from Baktoid Armour Workshop and began dismantling the company, which has substantial facilities on Ord Cestus, harming the Cestian economy. This would not be the last time that the Republic's conflicts with outsiders would harm Ord Cestus.
• In the wake of the Battle of Naboo, Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc., which had been a subsidiary of the Trade Federation, was sold to Duros investors.
• In the wake of the Battle of Naboo, Orman Tagge of TaggeCo began working on designs for Republic battle droids.
• In the wake of the Battle of Naboo, the Republic passed laws banning the use of droid armies, but those laws carried very little weight.
• Supreme Chancellor Palpatine outlawed all battle droids.
• After reports from Tatooine by Jedi Knights, the Republic commissioned the military force known as the Republic Outland Regions Security Force in an effort to establish some form of law and order in the Outer Rim.
• The YT-1760 line from Corellian Engineering Corporation was launched.
• The Commission for the Preservation of the Republic (COMPOR) was founded as a social group, but received covert aid and political power from Supreme Chancellor Palpatine himself.
• On Sullust, a new constitutional amendment was enacted which granted all shareholders of SoroSuub, whether residents of Sullust or not, a vote in planetary elections.
• Supreme Chancellor Palpatine awarded Arakyd Industries with a large contract, which included Vanguard probots that would help the Republic Explorational Corps open new hyperlanes into the Deep Core.
• Wilhuff Tarkin became head of the Outland Regions Security Force.
• As the Metatheran Cartel grew in power in the Cularin system, it began hunting the pirates it once used as an offensive force.
• SoroSuub Corporation built a floating manufacturing city in the clouds of Genarius in the Cularin system.
• With the defeat of the Trade Federation, Baktoid Armour Workshop E-5 droid blasters were sold for scrap.
• In the Cularin system, Almas' moon, Dorumaa, was terraformed for a resort colony.
• The Cularin system entered the Republic. As a result, the system gained a Senator for the Republic Senate, and the Thaereian military came to Cularin, establishing bases.
• In the wake of his defeat at Naboo, Nute Gunray refused to resign his post as Trade Federation Viceroy, and claimed no prior knowledge of the Sith. He pleaded innocent to any misdeeds and, after dozens of hearings, would remain in power.
• Republic scouts discovered Alzoc III and the native Talz. Due to the belief that the Talz were a primitive sentient species, they opted not to register their discovery with the Republic, so as not to burden the Senate with the proceedings.
• With the slow decline of Neimoidian society beginning now that the Trade Federation had lost their franchise, Neimoidian leader Chal Haan wrote in his Encyclical on Historical Greatness that Neimoidians 'must rebuild themselves into better beings than they have become', suggesting that they reintegrate themselves into the Duros society that they split off from nearly twenty-five millennia ago.
