Overview

• The Clone Wars ended. Most historical information from this era were reportedly lost during the Imperial period.
• The Jedi Order were declared enemies of the Republic and hunted down.
• The Old Republic became the Galactic Empire, and Chancellor Palpatine became Emperor
• The peaceful world of Caamas was devastated by the Empire, when the world's planetary shield was somehow disabled.
• Republic News was renamed Imperial HoloVision.
• Emperor Palpatine began to cut off exploration into new territories to cement his grip on the citizens of the Empire.
• Imperial Decree A-SL-4557.607.232 was passed, which legalised procurement of slaves under certain conditions.
• The Imperial-class Star Destroyer, renamed from Imperator-class for the glory of the Empire, began production to replace the Venator- and Victory-class models. The first off the line was the Executrix, followed by the Exactor.

• The Clone Wars ended.

16:5:24

• Republic HoloNet News reported on the new regional governors, Moffs, who would now be a direct link between various sectors and the Emperor himself. Among the first Moffs announced to the public were Wilhufff Tarkin, Denn Wessex, and Marcellin Wessel.
• In the wake of the Jedi Rebellion, the official story put out for public knowledge was that the Jedi had tried to assassinate Palpatine to take over the Republic. Supposedly, their motive was that Palpatine wouldn't immediately step down when the Jedi declared that the war was over, rather than waiting to see if the fighting was actually going to end. They were also blamed for the Clone Wars. The plot of the Jedi was purportedly foiled by Palpatine and his right-hand man, Darth Vader, whom no one had heard of before.
• Palpatine ordered the creation of new lines of capital ships and starfighters in the war's aftermath, under the auspices of preserving the peace. At the same time, he used his disfigurement at the hands of the Jedi to distance himself further from the Senate and the public. There was also talk of building an Imperial Palace for the Emperor, his advisors, and the Royal Guard, along with various statues to the man who "saved" the Republic and founded the Empire.
• The mining facility on Mustafar was reported as damage caused by an industrial accident. As a result of the destruction of several parts of the facility there, prices for dolovite rose to seven hundred and sixty credits per barrel.

16:6

• Jedi were discovered on Kashyyyk, and the native Wookiees attempted to throw off the shackles of Imperial oppression.
• Kashyyyk was subjugated, and Wookiees made into slaves.
• For harbouring a Jedi, Darth Vader destroyed a colony on Talasea.
• Emperor Palpatine ordered the destruction of Caamas. The Caamassi planetary shields were sabotaged by unknown parties. The surface Caamas was devastated. Other planets began taking Caamassi refugees.
• Republic HoloNet News was renamed Imperial HoloVision.
• Emperor Palpatine began to cut off exploration into new territories to cement his grip on the citizens of the Empire.
• The Museum of the Galactic Republic was closed by Emperor Palpatine.
• With the rise of the Empire, the laws upholding the rights of sentient beings slackened. With the passing of Imperial Decree A-SL-4557.607.232, which legalised procurement of slaves under certain conditions, slaving guilds rose to prominence. The once secret Guild of Zygerrian Slavers went public, and prospered under the Empire's rule. Other slaving groups competing with the Zygerrians were the Thalassians and the Karazaks.
• The Imperial Star Destroyer (originally classed as the Imperator-class Star Destroyer, renamed in honour of the Empire) began production to replace the Venator- and Victory-class models. The first off the line was the Executrix, followed by the Exactor.
• One month after the birth of the Empire, Darth Vader, according to Imperial sources, tracked down a group of Jedi on Kessel and killed fifty of them, personally.
• Former Senator Fang Zhar attempted to flee back to Sern Prime from hiding on Alderaan when Darth Vader tracked him down and killed him.
• Subjugation of Kashyyyk by Darth Vader. Wookiees enslaved to work on the construction of the Death Star.

Between 16:6 and 16:9

• Publicly, Kashyyyk was placed under martial law and Wookiee enslavement began in earnest.
• Garlan Limoth, a Senator, was one of the small group which supported Senator Palpatine of Naboo, shortly before the Battle of Naboo and Palpatine's election to Supreme Chancellor. However, when Palpatine declared himself Emperor and instituted the New Order, Senator Limoth withdrew his support. He died almost immediately afterward in a tragic accident.
• Palpatine ordered a large section of the HoloNet shut down, and put the rest under Imperial control in order to censor the public's news. At about the same time, he also officially renamed Coruscant "Imperial Centre".
• With the closing of most of the HoloNet, private courier services immediately began filling the communications gap.
• Palpatine ordered the creation of the Alien Protection Zone on Coruscant in response to vocal opposition to the Empire's anti-alien sentiments.
• In the wake of the Clone Wars, Emperor Palpatine declared the Morgukai warrior Nikto culture to be an outlawed religion.
• The Healer's Guild ceased to exist in the early days of the Galactic Empire.
• Emperor Palpatine arranged for the permanent exile of over 30 000 nobles, who were opposed to his New Order.
• Emperor Palpatine's xenophobia sparked a popular sentiment of High Human Culture, a "Human supremacy" doctrine that became a backbone of the New Order.
• The Trunsks developed their own hyperdrive, but their ability to travel the galaxy was cut short when Emperor Palpatine instituted the New Order. Declared a slave species, the Trunsks were made the centerpieces of many intergalactic circuses and gladiator fighting rings, despite the fact that they were intelligent and independent.
• With the rise of the Empire, the two major bacta cartels on Thyferra, the Zaltin and Xucphra, made arrangements with Imperial authorities to protect their trade, which brought them up to be the most powerful bacta cartels in the business for years to come.
• With the rise of the Empire, the remaining planetary security forces were all absorbed into one Imperial Navy.
• In the wake of the Clone Wars, most of the AT-TE (All-Terrain Tactical Enforcer) models were decommissioned by the Empire.
• With the rise of the Empire the Commerce Guild was absorbed into the Empire.
• With the rise of the Empire the Techno Union was absorbed into the Empire.
• With the advent of the Empire, Wroona gained tactical importance. Soon, an Imperial garrison was constructed on the surface, and a large stardock was constructed in orbit.
• With the rise of the Empire, the activities of the Ailon Nova Guard were cut down to mainly just ceremonial duties.
• With the rise of the Empire, Czerka Corporation was brought under Imperial control.
• With the rise of the Empire, treaties negotiated with the Old Republic on Elom were revoked, allowing the enslavement of the Elom again to mine lommite.
• With the rise of the Empire, the Imperials took an interest in Gravlex Med, where the Gravlex Launchworks began to be used to dispose of hazardous materials into the system's sun. Eventually, the Launchworks' capacity would be overwhelmed, causing the Empire to simply dump the materials on the planet itself, turning it into a wasteland. The few surviving Anx were scattered across the galaxy.
• With the rise of the Empire, Arakyd Industries became the Empire's primary droid manufacturer.
• With the rise of the Empire, Golan Arms began to lose much of its profitable business, but did supply a limited number of weapons to Imperial forces. However, disputes between the company and the Empire would eventually push Golan Arms to join with the Rebel Alliance in their struggle against Emperor Palpatine.
• With the rise of the Empire, Kuat Drive Yards was quickly granted many important Imperial contracts.
• With the rise of the Empire, Merr-Sonn Munitions was able to avoid nationalisation by having its holdings diversified over many subsidiaries.
• With the rise of the Empire, Emperor Palpatine ordered the razing of numerous worlds that were known for their lightsabre crystals, just to be sure that any surviving Jedi would be unable to get their hands on ready sources of new lightsabres.
• With the rise of the Empire, the Republic credit was replaced with the Imperial credit, but it remained backed by the InterGalactic Banking Clan, without whose backing the galactic economy might collapse.
• With the rise of the Empire, Senator Simon Greyshade declared a state of emergency in the Commonality, allowing the Empire to seize much of the profits from Vorzyd 5 (AKA "Gambler's World"). Imperial troops raided the Wheel, the gambling establishment, which was then turned over to Greyshade himself.
• With the rise of the Empire, Emperor Palpatine had the Jedi wing of the Galactic Museum closed off entirely. The Annals of the Republic hall was renamed "The New Order: The Glories of the Next Thousand Years".
• With the rise of the Empire, Ryloth would become home to a thriving slave trade.
• During the Jedi Purges, the Quermians pulled completely out of the Quermia system.
• During the Jedi Purges, Darth Vader's raids on Force-sensitive children became merged with old stories of Corellia's "Lord Nyax" figure.
• Galen Derlin was one of the most famous Senators of the Old Republic, and a close friend of Bail Organa. He withdrew from politics altogether when Emperor Palpatine rose to power, returning to his homeworld of Tiisheraanin, in order to get away from the corruption of the Empire. However, he was hunted down and assassinated by Imperial forces as a reminder of the power of the Empire.
• Alderaan became a world of peace, placing all of its remaining weapons aboard the Another Chance and sending the ship into perpetual hyperspace.
• As the Empire gained power, garrisons were placed on Zabrak-inhabited worlds, including Iridonia. This unified the Zabraks of each world against the Empire.
• Sate Pestage was made Grand Vizier of the Empire.

16:9

• Imperial forces entered the Tapani Sector. Upon arrival at Pelagon, three Imperial Star Destroyers were faced with the Pelagia Star, which withstood their firepower. It was damaged beyond repair, but still was not damaged enough to send it crashing to Pelagon. After the Imperials had taken control of the planet, the ship, by now in a standard orbit, was renamed Pelagia's Moon and used as a space station, though the nobility of Pelagon still desired to one day fix the ship/station and make it the flagship of a Pelagian battle fleet once again.
• The Empire deposed the legitimate ruler of the planet Bellassa, installing an Imperial governor and garrison. A group of anti-Imperial rebels called the Eleven took part in a popular uprising against the Empire, but they were violently put down.
