Modifications, or "mods", to games add or change functionality. That means things like new ships, different graphics, etc. Generally, you'll know a mod when you see one, because it will label itself as such.
Mods aren't usually hard to find, although you may need to look hard for some. Generally, when you find them, note:
- The author, title, and other information about the mod
- Status of the mod - complete? in beta? under development?
- What exactly the mod adds/changes in the game
- If available, what exactly the mod does to your computer (useful for those people who don't want to "mess up their computer")
- Screenshots of the mod in action
- Things people have done with the mod (new missions/levels, etc.)
- and whatever else you can think of.
