Overview

• Around this time, the T-65 X-wing starfighter entered the Rebel Alliance forces, beginning by holding off Imperial forces around Turkana.
• Sienar Fleet Systems created the first Imperial "interdictor" gravity well technology. Very few Interdictors were produced at this time due to cost.
• Having turned over his Senate seat to Leia Organa, Bail Organa took the positions of Viceroy and First Chancellor back home and began trying to turn Alderaan back from its pacifist ways to oppose the Empire.
• The various rebellious factions within the Galactic Empire united to form the Alliance to Restore the Republic (also known as the Rebel Alliance), with the signing of the Corellian Treaty.
• Mon Mothma drafted the Declaration of Rebellion and broadcasted it over the HoloNet. In it, she called for the overthrow of Emperor Palpatine and the restoration of the Republic. Several planets openly announced their allegiance to the Alliance and began transferring supplies to the Rebels. Many of these worlds are soon suppressed by Imperial forces, but much of the supply loads made it through.
• An outlaw camp was established on Aaris III.
• The B22 hold-out blaster was produced by Merr-Sonn.
• A game of mental prowess known as Declination became popular.
• A surveillance post was established on Calito by the Bacrana System Defence Force.
• The FR9 model holographic ore scanner was produced by MicroThrust.
• The Rebel Alliance established a base on De'nel.
• Savielk Trey'dra became leader of the Bothan Council (making him the de facto ruler of the Bothan people).
• During the early days of the Galactic Civil War, Athakam MedTech donated supplies to Princess Leia Organa, who got them to needed locations, up until her exposure as a Rebel agent around the time of the Battle of Yavin.
• During the early days of the Galactic Civil War, the Bith of Clak'dor VII again withdrew from the galaxy at large, fearing war's impact on their planet. A few Bith still left their wasteland homeworld, though, in order to earn money to send back to the homeworld.
• During the early days of the Galactic Civil War, BlasTech Industries did not officially join the Empire. They did, however, provide Imperial forces with weapons at a substantial discount.
• During the Galactic Civil War, Chiewab Amalgamated Pharmaceuticals Company moved most of its activities into the Corporate Sector.
• During the early days of the Galactic Civil War, Merr-Sonn Munitions developed the PLX-2M missile tube for use by Imperial forces.
• During the Galactic Civil War, Neuro-Saav Technologies formed an alliance with Tagge Company, forming a joint venture called BioTech, an experimental cybertech company. This helped keep Neuro-Saav in the Empire's good graces.
• The planet Froz was one of the first to support the Rebel Alliance. The Empire nearly wiped out the entire surface of the planet as a warning to others.
• Dandamont Pring became Imperial Consul-General to Bothawui.
• Frequent winner of the race during the Festival of the High Winds on Sevarcos, Lord Cassius Nolath Rha, won the race for the second year in a row.
• On Indu San, Robbe Nostler of the Galactic News Network was forced to start tailoring his stories to Imperial censors.
• Possibly as a reaction to reports of the Rebel Alliance's formation, Grand Moff Wilhufff Tarkin and Bevel Lemelisk began construction of the Death Star I in orbit of Despayre. Tarkin ordered the construction of a second station, the Death Star II, assuming the first one panned out. To protect the Death Star II construction zone at Endor, Imperial astrogators artificially extended the Sivestri Trace route all the way to Endor, creating to so-called Sanctuary Pipeline, which allowed Imperials in and out of the construction zone without detection. The Imperials also set up a cargo-transfer station above the red dwarf Murk.
• In response to the formation of the Rebel Alliance, Emperor Palpatine began building up the Imperial military.
• Moff Kentor Sarne was assigned to the Kathol Sector.
• The first Rebel High Command base was created in the Chrellis system, though they were forced to leave for a new base on Dantooine shortly thereafter due to increased Imperial activity in the Chrellis system.
• Travia Chan was made Commander in Chief of the Rebel forces in the Atrivis Sector.
• Corellian Diktat Dupas Thomree died. Heir-apparent Daclif Gallamby became the new Diktat.
• Jan Dodonna chose resignation from the Empire over treason or continuing to follow the harsh tactics laid down by Emperor Palpatine. As a result, the Empire planned to terminate him, but Mon Mothma warned him. While Dodonna wouldn't join the Rebellion (which was basically a treasonous organisation), he did take heed of the warning. He escaped in the middle of the night.
• Jan Dodonna's escape had not gone well. He had to be saved by Rebels under the command of General Roons Sewell. In their escape, Dodonna's tactics saved the ship. While he was originally reluctant to join the Rebellion, the Empire's attempt on his life convinced him to join, being commissioned as a General, answerable to Sewell.
• The Empire struck Tyshapahl.
• The Imperials garrisoned the planet Nishr.
• After a successful and fruitful Rebel attack on an Ylesian slave ship, Commander Bria Tharen suggested that the Rebel Alliance strike at Ylesia itself to free slaves, who might want to join the Rebellion, and to take over as much spice as they could to purchase weapons and ships.
