Republic Shield forces led by the Liberator attempted to disrupt the assault, with the Liberator directly engaging the vessels as the Modified Frigate Angelfire received wounded civilians evacuated from the station. The wounded were transferred from the station to the Angelfire, but Imperial forces succeeded in razing the platform.
