Alpha Yridiae is an F0-class, main sequence star with a surface temperature of 7,200˚K. The surface is yellow in color. The star has a record history of a very active magnetic field with numerous sunspots near the star’s equatorial latitudes, some reaching field strengths of 5000 Gauss.
