Summary
New members would have to select a "primary game" (or a primary genre) when they joined, and nothing else, so it would be their initial game. They would not be allowed to sign up for another game until they reached a certain rank (2nd Lt., probably, or maybe 1Lt or LJG).
Advantages
- This provides a sense of "home", of belonging to a specific place in the RS, something that is far harder to get if one joins with five games at once.
- This lessens confusion on the part of the new member greatly, as they only have one set of instructions to deal with, instead of possibly ten.
Disadvantages
- This will decrease the number of new members signing up for each individual game by quite a lot, but this might be made up for by increased activity from everyone who does sign up.
Notes
- Also consider Beginner's Path - these two proposals can work together.
- This proposal still requires extensive work in merging with Primary instructors to ensure that the new member's first instructor is active and willing to help.
