You see, the planet Paliura has a very unique flower, called the paliurus. After all, the planet was named after this flower. Anyway, this flower has 2 special properties. The first is the fact that it is Force-sensitive; it creates a bubble 1 meter wide of neutrality in the Force, and this compounds based on how many flowers are near it. To a Jedi/Sith, the whole planet seems to have no Force whatsoever. Don't be mistaken; these flowers are NOT like the ysalamiri. They do not negate the Force; they only make the area around it seem to lack any positive or negative Force energy. The Emperor himself would only be seen as another Force-sensitive civilian if a Jedi/Sith was feeling out the planet in the Force, although they'd find him after he goes killing people with lightning....anyway, back to the story. Because of this, the planet and it's flowers were not discovered by the Emperor or any other Force-bearing entity. The flower has one other special property though; when the Force does enter it's little bubble, it'll feed on that Force power and change it's growth according to that Force energy. This enabled one to see if another was emitting negative, or evil, energy or positive energy. A flower in the positive form looked beautiful, growing with unusually strong stems and an increase in it's bodily functions. The negative side turned the flower into a red stem, with pale flwers with thorns along the sides. The courts of Paliura used these flowers frequently for that use.  As Paliura grew and learned how to travel in space, it met the neighboring planets, Turpis and Kalia (the fourth planet was usually visible 2 hours out of a day, due to it's reflective minerals and the fact it has a vertical orbit around the sun, not horizontal or lopsided. Due to this, it wasn't discovered for many years and even harder to land on it. It's name is Heilige). Turpis had only microscopic lifeforms; there were too few oceans/seas to promote much life. Kalia, on the other hand, had much life. Human life, just like Paliura. Their only differences were their governments and the flower. Both had republics, but with different laws and judgement systems. Paliura used the flower in a trial to determine the innocence/guiltiness in a suspect and judged them according to the seriousness of the violation/ Kalia, on the other hand, has two governments. The planet Paliura is one of 4 orbiting a gas giant within the depths of the Unknown Regions. The systems' inhabitants aptly named it the "Damuu System" after the masssacre of Paliura in the 183rd revolution of Turpis (their calendar is based on the revolutions of the 3rd planet around the sun, which takes 283 years per revolution. No one knows when they started the calendar, but that massacre would be equivalent to the time of the destruction of Alderaan). Damuu means death, and there were lots of that in this massacre. Both had republics, but with different laws and judgement systems. Paliura used the flower in a trial to determine the innocence/guiltiness in a suspect and judged them according to the seriousness of the violation/ Kalia, on the other hand, has two governments.
