- Balanced attack: Fielding several players each in a wide variety of games, to damage forces of all types and win through sheer numbers. Variant of Attrition.
- Concentrated attack: Focusing on one particular game and fielding large numbers of players just for that game, of a variety of skill levels, that carry the club to a victory in that game and, possibly, the event. Variant of Attrition.

To do:
- SW game (non-XvT/XWA) clubs from BattleStats;
- Go through EH allies list;
- See if the following XvT/XWA clubs should be invited: NIR, RWS, OLD, A, BLESS, CM. None of them have had more than one pilot flying in the past two months, but they may be worth contacting.
- Set up orw_alliance egroup for use by the new ORW Council.
Games
- Empire at War - consider awarding 2x merits
- Republic Commando
- Battlefront 2
- Battlefront
- Jedi Academy
- Jedi Outcast
- Jedi Knight
- X-Wing Alliance
- X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter
- Galactic Battlegrounds?, Rebellion?, Force Commander?
Coding
IRC bot
- Coder: Dessan
- Announce all activity in the main channel
- Signups for 1v1 and 2v2, to be done via PM !signup
- Removes for 1v1 and 2v2 upon parting channel or quitting, or via !remove
- Matchings - make matches only if it does not violate the 3 per day rule
- Topics - Checks for updates to the score every 5 minutes and updates topic accordingly.
- Turning on/off - Websites are more reliable than IRC connections, so the bot simply needs a local on/off button.
Website
Matches:
- Place the match reporter here, instead of on IRC as before.
- Place controls for admin match modifying and turning the competition on/off.
Overall:
- Follow format from previous ORWs, with appropriate modifications.
2004 proposal

A proposal for a new multiplayer competition!
Problems encountered during Celestial Fury:
- Participation not rewarded: Not enough participation. People waiting and not getting anything for it.
- Winning rewarded too much: One person can win the entire competition. Wins matter tons.
- Standard 1v1 melees are boring, because they've been around for so many years.
Points awarded as follows:
- 6, win
- 4, tie
- 3, loss
- 1, every 15 minutes spent waiting to play someone.
Special points:
- 1 pt for highest score on team in a 2v2 (so, two people out of four get this bonus per match)
The idea here is to make 1v1s interesting and challenging, and 2v2s profitable.
A few examples of the points system chosen: Let's take an example that might have happened in CF: 4 DBers are signed up for an hour to play RedBaron. RedBaron wins once every 15 minutes, giving him 24 points. Each DBer is credited with 3 points for the 45 minutes they waited for a game, and 3 points for their loss, giving them each 6 points, which means the DB has also earned 24 points despite going 0-4. In this way, participation is rewarded.
Also of note is that 2 losses nets as many points as 1 win. Winning still gets your club lots of points, but having lots of people turn up and lose will also boost your club. I want participation to be rewarded in a way that it hasn't before. People will feel productive sitting on the list, because they are earning points. That will lead to more people on the lists.
Obviously the ORW3 will be a large collaborative effort on the part of many clubs, so every part of this proposal is up for discussion. I also do not know much about JA/JO as I have never played those, so someone may have to help me out there if more ideas are needed.
