Only child of a ranking engineer in Kuat, heir to a large fortune and business operation, orphaned at a very young age after the Empire seized control of Kuat's ship production facilities. Brought up to the care of trusted servant after the Imperial forces drove off those that resisted the taking, Kru's parents were forced in labor mines while Kru, grew up in the junk yards learning a rough trade of ferrying scraps and material to and from shipyards around Kuat.

He grew a reputation for succesfully comandeering condemned ships that are no longer spaceworthy. He has the cunning ability to fly impossible runs that are by normal calculation, impossible. This reputation, nearly cost him his life which led him to the Imperial fold.

Served in the Imperial fleet for four years as a well decorated fighter pilot but later retreating to a less exposed service as his rank in the Imperial navy progressed. With the Empire expanding, he gained higher status and his reputation of being an incredible pilot got him promoted to Commodore and began commanding smaller starships of the Imperial Navy. His charm and charisma in dealing with all beings he encountered made him sparringly popular but there was always something mysterious about him that he never let the Empire knew.

As he gained higher rank, the complexity of his missions grew and this exposed him to a chain of secret Imperial activities. This exposure led him to the discovery of the fate of his forebears and he secretly started recruited for disgruntled or maltreated personnel who shares the same contempt with the Empire in the Imperial ranks. He gains the loyalty of some personell, notably, Captain Aires Briggs who he saved in an mis-encounter with a suspected Rebel stronghold that turned out to be pirates. They thought of staging a coup to overthrow the Imperial command but it was too risky as their number is insufficient to overthrow the Navy and they have no means nor the upper hand to do such a feat. However, the number of angry officers and servicemen begins to grow and the threat of being discovered becomes imminent.

In one incident, he chanced upon an opportunity to find a ranking officer who would partake in their quest. I was through this scheming that he was able to contact General Zaarin and convince him of test flying TIE-Phantom to try out in a manuverability test on an asteroid feild. The TIE-Phantom's reputation then of being unreliable gave him the opportunity to fly the craft in an uncharted sector of the asteroid feild. He had some of his loyal friends wait for him and he ejected, left the TIE-Phantom's for a salvage craft to later disect and learn of it's capabilities. He had the drive to steal Imperial hardware so their band of mutineers can have a chance in an event of a firefight in deep space. He ordered loyal technicians to improve it's handling and make it more reliable in space combat. During the debriefing of his test flight, he blamed faulty controls and navigational instability led to its demise of the craft he was piloting.

His loss of the intial TIE-Phantom never gave him another chance of piloting the same craft except on the when
