Acronyms

Rebel Squadrons (RS) members use acronyms - abbreviations for longer words or phrases - to save time while communicating. Those new to the Rebel Squadrons, or one of its units, may not know certain acronyms used by members.

This article is a guide to every acronym you may come across in the Rebel Squadrons.

Note: On this wiki, acronyms are generally placed in parentheses (like this) after the full phrase; for an example, see the first few words of this article.

General terms

• RS = Rebel Squadrons
• RL = Real Life
• IC = in character (fictional words or actions as an entity of the Star Wars universe)
• OOC = out of character (non-fictional words or actions)
• BP = Beginner's Path
• ITOD = Interactive Tour of Duty - refers to the RS's current fictional and videogaming mission, or to the tour of duty of which it is a part
• HC , RSHC = High Command
• CS , RSCS = Command Staff
• CO , ACO = Commanding Officer, acting Commanding Officer
• XO , AXO = Executive Officer, acting Executive Officer
• SO , ASO = Second Officer, acting Second Officer
• TO , TCO , TXO = Training Officer, Training Commanding Officer, Training Executive Officer
• LOA = Leave of Action
• AWOL = Absent Without Leave
• SP = Single-player (computer opponents)
• MP = Multi-player (human opponents using the Internet)
• B&G = #rs_bar_and_grill
• rs.org = rebelsquadrons.org

Divisions:

• PSG = Patriot Starfighter Group (X-Wing, TIE Fighter
• PBF = Refers to Patriot Starfighter Group - is the acronym for the old name, Patriot Battle Fleet
• ABG = Allegiance Battle Group (D6 roleplaying)
• VSG = Vigilance Starfighter Group (X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance)
• RF = Redemption Fleet, home to units less than fleet size
• RID = Righteous Indignation Division (Empire at War)
• VF , RSPA = Vanguard Fleet, home to the Rebel Squadrons Player Association (Star Wars Galaxies)
• RSA , Acad = Academy, where new members are trained; fictional name Republic Shield Academy

Offices:

• FC , RSFC = Fleet Commander - in command of the RS
• XO , RSXO = Rebel Squadrons Executive Officer - second in command of the RS
• IO , RSIO = Internet Office or Internet Officer
• LO , RSLO = Logistics Office or Logistics Officer
• OO = Operations Office or Operations Officer
• TO = Training Office or Training Officer
• HO , OHR = Historical Office, Historical Officer, or Office of Historical Records
• MO = Medals Office or Medals Officer
• CoJ , MoJ , DoIA = Council of Justice, Minister of Justice, Department of Internal Affairs

• PHP - PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, the coding language that powers the RS website
• CoC , PCoC = Chain of Command, Primary Chain of Command
• NRMoH , MoH = New Republic Medal of Honor
• CP = Character Point (ABG)
• FP = Force Point (ABG)
• OOB = Order of Battle
• IOTOD = Interactive Online Tour of Duty, a multiplayer ITOD; none are currently active
• ORW , ORW2 , ORW3 = Outer Rim War, Outer Rim War II, Outer Rim War III
• CF = Celestial Fury, an inter-club multiplayer competition
• ICTE = Inter-Club Training Event, a low-key inter-club multiplayer competition

• R2F , R2W = Retribution Fleet (or Retribution Wing), merged into PSG; was the TIE fleet,
• RgF = Renegade Fleet, merged into VSG; was the XvT fleet
• IBG = Intrepid Battle Group, merged into VSG; was the XWA fleet
• AF = Aurora Force, formed independent club; was the writing unit (using e-mail)
• CD , RSCD = Commando Division, merged into RID; was the BF, BFII, RC, JK, JO, JA unit
• JD = Jedi Division, merged into RID; was the JK, JO, JA unit
• IC , RSIC = Rebel Squadrons Infantry Command, merged into RID; was the merger of CD and JD (above)
• STC = Strategic and Tactical Command, decommissioned; was the real-time strategy unit, including SWGB and FC
• RSI = Rebel Squadrons Imaging, a long-decommissioned unit which created graphics for use by RS members
• RSMM = Rebel Squadrons MultiMedia, a long-decommissioned unit which created sound and video for use by RS members

Historical terms for items no longer active in the RS

• PO = Rebel Squadrons Publications Office or Officer, an executive office that was to oversee the creation of RSNLs.
• DF = Dark Forces, first-person shooter
• GB , SWGB = Galactic Battlegrounds, real-time strategy
• FC = Force Commander, real-time strategy
• IO = The Imperial Order, a defunct club
• BA = Bar Admiral, a discontinued rank above Fleet Admiral
• SA = Sector Admiral, a discontinued rank above Bar Admiral still held by Super

Chat or instant messaging

• lol = laughing out loud
• heh : (not an acronym per se, but an expression of amusement)
• wb = welcome back
• ttyl = talk to you later
• omg = oh my God (or, oh my gosh)
• wtf = what the f***
• stfu = shut the f*** up
• rofl = rolling on (the) floor laughing
• lmao = laughing my ass off
• ftw = for the win
• OMGWTFBBQ!! = omg wtf barbeque: an exclamation that indicates more surprise than any other acronym

• gf = good fight
• ss = screenshot

• PI = Primary Instructor; PIoD = Primary Instructor on Duty
• UG = Undergrad or Undergraduate
• PG = Postgrad or Postgraduate
• UGI = Undergrad Instructor

Vanguard Fleet (RSPA)

• NH = New Horizon, a city
