Fleet Admiral is the highest club level rank. It is also currently the highest attainable rank in the Rebel Squadrons. It may be granted to persons who have proven activity and contributions to the Rebel Squadrons at the club level for a minimum of five months as a Admiral. A member only reaches the rank of Fleet Admiral through long service at the club-wide level, usually as a Fleet CO on High Command or as a member of the Executive staff. Promotion to this rank is at the discretion of either the Fleet Commander or majority vote by the High Command.[[1]] The number of active Fleet Admirals in the Rebel Squadrons is intentionally kept at a low level to preserve the desirability of the rank.
History
The rank of Fleet Admiral has been the Rebel Squadrons' highest attainable rank since late 1997. Prior to that it was topped by Bar Admiral and Sector Admiral.
