Great Temple of Adhe Zion

Jump to navigationJump to search

A temple built by Bethlamorian Sith warlord Adhe Zion to be the center of his kingdom, as well as a place of worship for his followers. After his death at the hands of his two sons, a tomb was constructed in the catacombs deep under the temple proper: Zion's grave is called the Tomb of Adhe Zion, and is the site of a powerful Sith altar.

The temple was converted into a Jedi base by Lord Hoth's Army of Light after the Republic invasion and liberation of Bethlamore from Sith forces during the Light and Darkness War. It was abandoned by the Jedi Order circa 200 BBY; used as a Seperatist base, and then a Republic base, during the Clone Wars; and was most recently converted into the headquarters for the Assembly of the Force and its Academy.

Currently the Temple of Adhe Zion serves as headquarters for the Assembly of the Force, a refuge for various unaffiliated peoples and refugees, and a base for the independent group of smugglers, spies, and mercs, SkyNet, which is headed by Randy.

Layout

The largest of the temples built on Bethlamore by the Sith, the Great Temple of Adhe Zion is a grand construction, with the main section of the temple standing 360 feet tall, with the Great Hall resting atop it, adding another 25 feet to the buildings height; its base is 1004 feet by 1004 feet, with each level recessed inwards 10 feet on each side. The temples outer walls are four feet thick, and are specially constructed from an extra-durable, alchemically-enhanced stone.

External Features

  • Outside stairs: These two staircases run up the center of the northwest side of the temple, allowing access into each individual floor from the outside of the temple. In between the two sets of stairs are doors on each level, allowing access to that level.
  • Rooftop Gardens: The gardens surrounding and on top of the Great Hall. These gardens contain plants native to Bethlamore, as well as some non-native flowers. This is everyone's favorite hang-out, it seems.

Internal Features

  • Stairwell: At the very center of the temple is the stairwell which leads up to the 29th floor. These stairs connect to the stairs in the Grand Entrance Hall, allowing people to walk to the levels above, if they so wish.
  • Turbolift Bank: The turbolift bank is also in the center of the temple: the main turbolift is in the center of the stairwell, riding along the temple's central axis; the two other turbolifts are on either side of the stairwell. The turbolifts only run up to the 29th floor, where you must use the stairs to get up to the rooftop or to the Great Hall. The entrance to access the main turbolift from the Grand Entrance Hall runs between the two grand marble staircases which lead up into the stairwell.

First Floor

The first floor is double the height of the other 28 floors inside the main section of the temple, rising 24 feet above ground level; the inside of this floor's walls measures 1000 feet by 1000 feet.

The temple's main doors are set in the center of the south-eastern face of the building. Once inside the grand double doors, one finds themself in the Grand Entrance Hall, a wide, highly decorated entrance hall with doors on either side leading into the Jedi Library. At the end of the hall is the turbolift bank and two marble staircases which lead into the stairwell.

The Jedi Library surrounds the Great Entrance Hall on three sides, and it is made up of a ground level and a second level. The second level is a wrap-around balcony which follows the walls of the Great Library, and it overlooks the Grand Entrance Hall: the border between the second level of the Jedi Library and the Great Entrance Hall are elaborate columns which lead into the entrance hall's vaulted ceiling. The Jedi Library is divided up into specific sections, and in-between sections on the ground level are tables and work desks.

Second Floor

The MedBay occupies the entirety of this floor, with the staircase and the turbolift banks exiting into the waiting room. There are two bacta wards, a casualty ward, a morgue, operating rooms, rooms for examinations and recovery, et cetera on this floor. It's basically a small hospital built inside the temple.

Third Floor

Containing primarily the Mess Hall and the kitchens in the third floor. There are also several lounges, class rooms, store rooms, and the temple's laundry area. The mess hall is located near the turbolift bank and starwell, with the kitchens right next door on one side of the mess hall.

The Mess Hall essentially stretches from the northwest wall, were there is an entrance to the outside, to well inside the temple, ending against the back of the turbolift bank. The kitchens are off to the northern side of the mess, and are large enough to house a large droid kitchen staff.

Fourth Floor

The fourth floor houses the temple's primary physical training facilities. There are gyms, sparring chambers, locker rooms, and spas on this floor. There are also an assortment of supply closets.

Fifth Floor

The first dorm level, the fifth floor is almost entirely dormitories, except for a lounge on the northern end and a fountain room on the southern end. Jacob and Raven both live on this floor in dorms, and Cay-Qel Jade lives in a corner suite, directly below Randy's.

Sixth Floor

Another dormitory level, the sixth floor is a mixture of dormitories, suites, personal offices, a public bath, and a lounge. Randy's apartment suite is on this floor, as is his office.

Randy's apartment is a corner suite on the eastern corner of the temple.

Randy's office is near the turbolift bank, and lacks an outside view. Instead, it has artificial viewports which can be set to a certain view take from one of the cameras placed on the temples exterior.

Sixth Floor Inhabitants: (incomplete)

Seventh Floor

The seventh floor is also a dormitory level, containing dorms, suites, personal offices, meditation chambers, and a lounge. Eric Skrevski lives here in an apartment suite directly above Randy's.

The Council Chamber is on the southeastern face of the temple, along the southeastern wall. The other three walls of the chamber are decorated with murals.

There were also three staircases leading upwards: one into the Great Hall, and the other two leading to the rooftop.

Great Hall

Sitting atop the temple, the Great Hall does not follow the normal architectural structure of the rest of the temple: it is 500 feet long by 200 feet wide. Around the walls of the Great Hall are the Rooftop Gardens. The Great Hall was used for ceremonies and special occasions.
